Information about turkish marsi

hi,

Turkish friends. I am a great fan of Mehter music. I learnt about it
from Jean Baptiste Lully, march of the turks.
The question is that I'd like to know how old are the different
Mehter. I guess Ceddin Deden marsi is the oldest, but I haven't
found a chronology of them.

The one I like most is Gafil ne bilir marsi:

I would love to know more about marsis.

I think no any chronology list for mehter marchs.Because old and anoymous. You can find the more details about mehteran below of link.

I'm not an expert on this. But I can say a few sentences. Mehter was in the 14th century, we know that. Sultan Mahmut II abolished the Janissary Army in 1826, and Mehter was left behind.

Oriental music and -naturally- classical Turkish music was not based on notes, but on practice (meşk). The music couldn't be recorded with a musical note. (Of course there is Hamparsum note in the late period.) For this reason, it is not easy to chronologize Mehter music.

Now, without being a complete chronology,

Plevne Marşı (Tuna Nehri Akmam Diyor): This anthem is about "Russo-Turkish War (1877-187😎". This anthem was actually a folk song.

Şu Kopan Fırtına Türk Ordusu'dur Ya Rabbi: The words of this anthem were written by Yahya Kemal Beyatli. (1884-195😎 This marche is about Turkish Independent War (1919-1923).

Tarihi Çevir: This marche is a manifestation of all the victories of Turks in history. In this marche, old Turkic peoples such as Göktürk, Uigur and Pecenek etc. are mentioned. Nationalism is felt in the words of the anthem. It was written and composed in the 20th century.

Yürekler Kabarık: Words of the anthem prove that the anthem isn't too old. I think, it is the work of the 20th century.

"Ceddin Deden" march was composed by İsmail Hakkı Bey (1865-1927). We don't know the exact date but it is not so old. Also, "Ceddin Deden" contains nationalist lyrics and this is not for Ottoman Empire. In the last years of Ottoman Turkey, like other opinions, nationalist Turks have some marches like that.

In additon, this military squad there was not exist between 1826 and 1908. Reformist Sultan Mahmut has removed them. But Enver Pasha initiate them in 1908.
