I Support the Following

Edit: I used this article for my PP run; I'm recycling it for my Congressional run. You can see clearly in it what I stand for. Also, by recycling, I'm environmentally responsible!

Hello, BDPers, and Britain at large. To get right to the point, this party is essentially dead. I have experience watching dead parties try to fix themselves, and it doesn't work. You can revive the partly dead, but something totally dead can't be helped. It would be for the best to stick it in the ground and use it as fertilizer, and grow something on top of it. In political terms, I mean that the BDP should be pronounced dead, and a new party formed where it used to stand.

I am running for Party President of the British Democratic Party, on the following platform:

Britain: Do you want your country to be relevant again? Don't you think Britain should at least be a regional power? Do you think that we shouldn't lose battles to Belgium?

the pride of the UKAF?

Yeah, me too. For far too long we've been in decline. Dying from apathy and neglect. Our population has been in decline for ages, our economy is a basketcase, and did I mention that we can't take Belgium?

It won't do. And so, should I be elected, I will carry out a total reformation of the party. We shall rise from the ashes of the British Democratic Party, which to be perfectly honest, hasn't particularly mattered in quite a while. Our mission is simple: We shall do what is necessary to make Britain the force it deserves to be. At very least, this country should be a regional power. We're surrounded by small countries like Ireland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium, who are all wonderfully ripe for the picking. And yet at this point, there's no indication we could handle ourselves against even one of these. Need I say once again that we've lost to Belgium? I for one won't stand for it.

(nice logo, needs a new name though...😉

*this has been discussed on the BDP forums, and we've yet to settle on a new name - feel free to contribute your input

We shall stand upon the following 4 pillars, which will put us on the path toward relevance, and a future where the UK isn't laughed at.

1) Military Reform

The military's organization as the situation stands today is just above abysmal. It is set up to get people involved and help them rank up a bit, which would be just lovely, if it could put out reasonable damage as well. But it doesn't. There are militias which can nearly match the output of the UKAF, and at a much cheaper price. Specifically speaking, we'll push for:

- Greater funding for the military. The economy may be strained (more on that later), but if we can get the military some proper capital, to invest in their companies, it becomes a self-sustaining boost. Under current economic rules higher-quality food and weapons companies are vastly more useful. If the government will front the gold for these improvements, our nation's firepower will increase greatly.

- A proper elite division. 1500 STR and occasional IRC activity does not make an elite soldier, but that's our highest requirement right now. Surely there are soldiers of a higher breed within the UKAF, who can and should be put to proper use. There are rumors of plans in motion to make this happen; we will see it through.

- Mass attacks. If the military wants to get people involved, this is a good step to take. Not only that, but our damage will actually count for something if concentrated. Win-win.

- Reformed supply. As it stands, the military passes out a certain amount of food to people each day. This happens whether or not there are important battles. If there are important battles, then soldiers get a little more. This system is wasteful in non-urgent times, and leaves us without enough supply and firepower when it matters. We'd do far better to save supply for when it matters, and then go at it with ferocity.

that's more like it

2) Recruitment/Retention

Look at these population numbers. They make me itch. We sure aren't the size we used to be. Other countries have stayed the same size or even grown, while we've shrunk to a fraction of our former size. If we hope to be relevant on even a regional scale, we need to attract new players, and plenty of them.

But more than just that, we need to keep them. We shall push to get newer players engaged and interested, and turn them into contributing members of this nation. It won't be an easy job, but we recognize that it is of the utmost importance. They're our future, and without fresh blood, we don't have a future.

And perhaps they will find our wars enjoyable...

off to the front, newbie

3) Intelligent Foreign Policy

I'm not suggesting that we pick a fight with everyone all at once. We recognize that we're quite small and disorganized, and while we intend to fix this, it will take time. While wars are an important part of our ascent to greatness, we must pick and choose our battles. We must ensure that we have friends with us, and that we don't bite off more than we can chew. We will fight to see that those in charge of Britain's foreign policy manage it with an eye to both our short- and long-term success.

can't have that...

4) Economic Reform

Perhaps you haven't noticed, but our economy is a basketcase. The currency's nearly worthless, and the government seems to always be broke. It won't do. This country deserves better, and we shall push for it.

Our protectionist policies have failed. Goods are overpriced and undersupplied. Our currency is weak. Hell, we have maximum tariffs on grain, a resource we don't even possess! This is madness, and it's making us poorer. We will work to fix this.

We will also take a full and critical look at our tax code on the whole. The government does indeed need revenue, but it must be extracted fairly and efficiently. Leaving money in the hands of the citizens, if the citizens are actived and engaged, will pay off many times over.

richest man in all of Manchester

This all comes back, in the end, to making the UK kick more ass. This brave new party is all about strengthening the country in all areas. Because let's face it, it's no fun being a third-rate power.

If you agree, vote for me for Party President on the 15th. Andjoin up. Even if you don't intend to stay, your vote counts on election day, and if you think the above would help improve this nation, I could use your vote.

If you disagree, move to Ireland.

Message me with any questions/concerns/dead baby jokes you may have, and I'll get back to you. I'll try to respond to comments on this article as well.
