Hi, e-citizens !

According to many shouts and articles, I see there is a big number of people that think the cat is the most beautiful, funny, clever and adorable animal (and that's true, IMHO). There are MU's and parties, dedicated to them too. And, at last, many who just simply ♥ ❤ ♥ them 😉
Probably there are people that would like to "spice" their browser with that Firefox Theme. Maybe some of them already did it. It looks like this:







Unfortunatelly, with the latest Mozilla Firefox update to version 27.0 the cats are gone, because of incompatibility with this version. Here is the way that can help and brings the cats back.



First, you'll need to download the main theme file (*.jar). It's for the "blue flavor", but the method works with the "green flavor" too. The "green" one is HERE. If the links are "not found", just select the location bar and press "enter" key.

Next, you may change the extension of the *.jar file to *.rar (or *.zip, it doesn't matter, we will open it with archiver program). Or "Open with..." WinRar. Then you must find the "install.rdf" file.


Extract or directly edit the file with Notepad. You should see a line here that says: "27.0a1"

It's here in the file:


Chahge the "27.0a1" (which is in fact the version) to something higher, let's say "30", "40" or something similiar. My change was "42" ("The Ultimate Answer to Life, Universe and Everything" 😉 )

Save the file and re-pack it into the archive (or overwrite it when closing, if you edited it directly).


Change the extension of the file (if you changed it before) back to *.jar.

Now, you've "hacked" the file, you can install the theme without annoying message for incompatibility. You may upload the modified file somewhere on the Internet (it's not that big, 1,1 MB only) and install when open it from Firefox, but I preffer to install it "from file".





Browse the path to the file, install, restart the browser and you're done. These lovely cats are back ! Meaow ! 😉
