How much Gold can be saved with a Training Contract

Day 2,705, 01:25 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Max Blue
Today the admins have put up training contracts again. I'm going to talk about who can benefit from a training contract and I breakdown the numbers of training and discover a shocking surprise.

The ability to purchase the training contacts only lasts to the end of day 2705, so if you miss it this time: read on and an prepare yourself for when it is next on. There are two different contracts that you are offered, a 50% off cost, and a 90% off one. You can only buy one so if you are going to purchase one it should be the 90% one. This offers is better value for money in terms of initial cost verses long term training cost so it is a straight forward choice.

The benefits

These vary from person to person, depending if you use all of your training facilities each day. To work out if it is worth it take the cost of each training facility you use and times it by the amount of times you use it over a 30 day period (how long a training contract lasts). Add the different training facility costs you have worked out above together. Now you have one number that if your total expenditure on training in a 30 day period. Now you need to work out 90% of that figure and take this off the total cost. To work out 90% off the move the decimal point one place to the left* (dividing by ten has this exact effect) then times this number by nine. so for example...

Total cost for 30 days is 86.10 Gold.

86.10 divided by 10 is 8.61 Gold. 8.61 times 9 is 77.49.

So 90% of 86.10 Gold is 77.49 Gold. To find out how much this would cost you take the discount off the total expenditure figure. 86.10 minus 77.49 equals 8.61 Gold.

8.61 becomes the cost of your training grounds over 30 days. Of course add in the cost of the 90% training contract which is 53 Gold. So 8.61 Gold plus 53 Gold is 61.61 Gold. Notice this is significantly cheaper than the original 86.10 Gold.

How do I get a training contact?

Go to 'Gold and Extras' in the bar at the top of the page then select 'Special Items' and you will see the contracts on the top right as shown below.

If they are not there this is because the offer only lasts for day 2705 and you have missed it. Don't worry though, at least now you have worked out that you can benefit from taking out this offer so the next time it comes around you can jump on it.

How much Gold...

I have upgraded all of my training grounds and I purchase training contracts whenever I can, this means instead of 86.10 Gold every 30 days I pay out a total of 61.61 Gold (training costs plus the cost of a training contract). That is a saving of 24.49 Gold per month. However lets go further and work out how much I earn in 'Super Soldier' medals (5 Gold is awarded per SS medal). Each day I get 90 strength from using my training grounds and 1 strength from completing the work + train bonus. So each day I gain 91 strength; times this by 30 days equals 2730 strength. It takes just 250 strength to earn a SS medal, so in 30 days I get 10.92 SS medals. 10.92 medals times the 5 Gold a medal equals 54.6 Gold.

Now when I take my total strength gaining expenditure (training cost and training contract) which is 61.61 Gold and I take off the money earned in SS medals: 54.60 Gold, I get 7.01 Gold. So, every 30 days I spend 7.01 Gold and I gain 2730 strength! That works out at a cost of less than 0.24 Gold a day!

As pointed out in the comments section if I take the Gold from my 'Hard Worker' medal (earned after 30 days of work) and invest this into training I only have to find another 2.01 Gold over the 30 day period. This then lowers the cost per day to 0.067 Gold!

Fully upgraded training facilities make cheap training cost effective

Again thanks to the comments section for this addition... It is worth pointing out that to fully upgrade training grounds from Q1 to Q4 it costs 170 Gold for each facility.

If you only upgrade your grounds when there's a sale on (and you'd be mad not to wait for the sales), you'll get a discount of 45%. This makes each upgrade just 93.5 Gold rather than 170 Gold. If you have not upgraded any of your training building it will cost you 374 Gold when using the 45% discount. These may seem like large numbers but few people will upgrade all buildings in one go. Upgrading buildings as offers come up is the way to go. If you are not doing all the upgrades at once; do the ones that are better value for money first, so upgrade the first training ground, then the second then the fourth then the third. This order is based on which grounds provide the most strength for Gold.

It does take some investment to get to a position where it's worth buying the 90% contract to train, but once you're there it's a great position to be in.
