Hi, I'm PigInZen. Vote for me.

Day 707, 16:14 Published in USA USA by PigInZen

It's time to go the whole hog.
Jewitt is running for President and has asked me to be his running mate. I enthusiastically accepted.
Why vote for Jewitt and the Pig? I can speak volumes about Jewitt's dedication and experience but what I would like to do in this article and in several to come is introduce myself to those of you whom I have not yet had the opportunity to meet.
I am PigInZen and have been a citizen of the USA since joining eRepublik on Day 553 (May 26th, 2009). I am older than your average citizen (I'm 42) and have a wife and four kids. During the day I do systems administration (IT work) for a large publisher. I have a Real Life as do the rest of you. But I have a passion for eRepublik and the community here in the USA.
It is my personal goal to build the USA into not only the highest ranked power but also the best organized and unified community in eRepublik. I know that Jewitt shares these goals as well. :

1. Leveraging Web technologies to increase communications effectiveness (i.e., the eUSforums, US InfoHub and IRC)
2. Building governmental function through organization
3. Providing open access to positions in the USA government to all loyal citizens
4. Practicing inclusive, personal interactions between citizens and their government.

Sure, that sounds great albeit it's not very specific. Well, the limits of the eRepublik necessitate me keeping articles short and sweet. Besides, no one enjoys reading a Wall o' Text. Let's just say I'll give you a description of what I've been doing since late May.

I had the great opportunity to work for then-Secretary of State Harrison Richardson in the State Department in the Office of Developing Regions as Undersecretary of State. Essentially I made contact with new nations (Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Uruguay and Venezuela) and tracked goings-on in smaller nations like Israel, Malaysia, Chile, etc. It was a fun experience and exactly what we need more of.

When Harrison Richardson was elected President he asked me to serve as his Deputy Chief of Staff. Often times I was the sole face to that administration during times of the day when no other Cabinet members were active in IRC. I put into motion my current plans for organizing the Executive branch, the Cabinet, and communications structures (eUSforums, IRC).

When then Secretary of State Emerick ran for President he asked me to be his Vice President. As Emerick's VP I continued my efforts to organize the administration and put into place a more defined structure for the cabinet and its functions, a structure that continues to this day. Here's a link to the current Cabinet structure.

When Emerick ran for a second term as President he asked me to be his Chief of Staff, a job much more suited to my obsession with government organization. Gaius Julius, after taking over after Emerick's resignation, kept me on in this capacity. Thanks, Gaius!

I believe that the sky is the limit for the USA. My aim is to organize and improve the function of government and I believe that under the guidance and with the support of the past three presidents we have made great progress, mostly due to the hard work of people other than me. The next steps, however, involve specific programs and policy recommendations. I believe that I am ready to take that next step. I am asking for you to vote for Jewitt and the Pig come November 5th.

Also, watch this newspaper for more specifics regarding projects and proposed domestic policy that I have. Expect these to be out in two days in another article.

OK, apologies, this became a WALL OF TEXT, didn't it? Well, anyone who knows me already expects that... *grin*
