Hey! Radical! Get Your Government Off My Freedom!
Corey Blake
About 2 weeks ago, we witnessed a fundamental change that shook the very foundation of Australia government. I am speaking, of course, about the Constitution. I would like to first say that I am a supporter of a Constitution in Australia. It serves as a foundation to our very way of life and as a guiding document to how we govern.
But the document we say passed 2 weeks ago is a joke. Not only is it beyond complexity, it was passed illegally.
Point #1: The Amendment process calls for a 60% majority for an Amendment to pass the Senate. However, the voting process for the Constitution's introduction was passed in the Senate with a 1 vote majority.
Point #2: The Public referendum process was anything but. A news article was posted in a personal newspaper rather than an official Australian govt. newspaper. Then, the vote for the Public was an opinion poll rather than a referendum vote. (Read the forum posts for more details)
Point #3: With this new Constitution, we will see the elimination of the Executive Branch, leaving all the Executive responsibilities on the Prime Minister. So, this means, that not only will the PM have to do the budget himself, he will have to post Education articles, Industry articles, run the Monetary Market, be our Chief Diplomat, and many other Cabinet responsibilities. Essentially, no more sleep for the Prime Minister.
Point #4: The RBA will no longer be used. Instead all our funds will remain in the Country's Treasury, so if we get invaded and lose all our regions, say goodbye to all your tax dollars.
Australia, is this the kind of people you want to be? If you are okay with being told where to go like cattle, then this Constitution is for you. But if you want to govern yourself and want the government off your back, help us fight this Constitution.
I am making a campaign promise, that, if elected Senator, I, along with other great minds, will propose a Constitution, one that is much simpler, and mirrors the simple-mindedness of the eUS's Constitution.
The radicals have gotten their foot in the door. So we must fight with the power of logic and facts against their emotionally-fueled solutions, to stop this fundamental change to our very way of life.

Since we have to ban articles for 1 word, because some people are scared of the content, I have changed it to PG-rated.
good points Corey Blake, this constitution is not what Australia deserves.
eAustralia has gotten exactly what it deserves.
Wow, I've been back for like 3 days now and 2/3 of the media is this constitution ramble... wait a minute... I just realised I've seen a lot of opposition to this constitution being passed but if it's not being undone then there must be voices against it. How have I not seen them? Can anyone point me in the direction of the reason it was done and should be kept please?
Vote for GnG in the election to make sure DIY or ANP do not gain majority and ruin the country!
I agree with this candidate
"Point #1: The Amendment process calls for a 60% majority for an Amendment to pass the Senate. However, the voting process for the Constitution's introduction was passed in the Senate with a 1 vote majority."
Lie
"Point #3: With this new Constitution, we will see the elimination of the Executive Branch, leaving all the Executive responsibilities on the Prime Minister. So, this means, that not only will the PM have to do the budget himself, he will have to post Education articles, Industry articles, run the Monetary Market, be our Chief Diplomat, and many other Cabinet responsibilities. Essentially, no more sleep for the Prime Minister."
Another Lie, the Senate just doesn't recognise any minister the PM may choose to have. The PM is however fully responsible for what is done.
"Point #4: The RBA will no longer be used. Instead all our funds will remain in the Country's Treasury, so if we get invaded and lose all our regions, say goodbye to all your tax dollars."
Another Lie.
Provided the PM and his ministers if he has any include RBA requriements for Money Market Gold trading then it will be operating.
XG, Point #1 is not a lie. Take a look at the vote count, buddy
Point #3 is not a lie, name the last time the Senate denied a PM a Cabinet member. I'll wait.
Point #4 is definitely not a lie. If I may quote the Constitution, Chapter 2, Section 32 "Money will not be shipped to a separate organisation to be used at the Prime Minister's whim. It must be asked for using the eRepublik proposal mechanism. If a specific transfer is not presented as part of a proposal, it is treated as a separate item and may be voted against, and denied, by the senators as per the game mechanics."
I'm glad, however, we both agree on Point #2 though.
Best of luck Corey, let me know when you plan to run for CP. 😛
Corey... your point 3 is garbage and you know it. The whole idea of it is to make the person who has been elected pm by the people (you know us) accountable for the actions of those he chooses to represent himself in the ministries.
To be honest I don't really agree with any of your points but at least the rest aren't flat out BS.
Jade, please tell me how the PM isn't held accountable for the actions of those in his Cabinet? When something goes wrong, doesn't the PM always get blamed?
Corey, your still not reading:
"Point #1 is not a lie. Take a look at the vote count, buddy"
Yes, it is a lie. You stated that it requires a 60% vote by the senate which is an out and out lie.
Chapter III, clause 38. If accepted by Government Vote, the proposed changes must be placed on the Public Gallery, specifically outlining it is a [Constitutional Change] and list what the changes are from and to.
Majority vote in the Senate is the same as that of Game mechanics for standard votes, thats 51%. The 60% vote requirement is for the public vote for the change. Like I said, your Point 1 is a LIE!
As for your Comment: Point #3 is not a lie, name the last time the Senate denied a PM a Cabinet member. I'll wait.
It is a lie. The Constitution does not deny the PM from having a minister if thats what they want to call them. I suggest you re-read Chapter I, Part II, Clause: 8. The PM is responsible for all funds and assets of the government. At the PM's discretion, they may delegate those responsibilities to another eAustralian citizen to act on behalf of the PM. The PM is to be held accountable for the actions of his delegates. Should the PM, or his/her delegate, fail to manage the funds and assets of the government in a responsible manner, any member of the senate may introduce an impeachment in accordance with the game mechanics.
Game Mechanics Corey. You've never been a PM have you. Strange that 4 of the 6 Ex-PMs in the Senate voted for this isn't it?
