PICK A HAMMER
by: Slybabymichele

My name is Slybabymichele, I am a new member of Shield and honored to be a member of the Hammer program.

The Hammer program has been described as a strength training program for new players, designed to support the next generation of Shield agents. To some Shield might be just an idea of quick gold and easy upgrades. To others it is a place grow; learn with others that have been here longer. I would quickly learn things about the game that I would not have been able to pick up on my own.

My experience of Erepublik for the first two months was a somewhat enjoyable time. I thought I knew what I was getting into and would be able to progress and work myself up playing as just a solo player. As the weeks passed on I realized that I would not be able to grow at the pace that I once thought I would have. If I continued this solo path I would most likely end up quitting the game. So I made a conscious decision to not go at this alone. But who would I join up with?

I decided to join Shield before even learning about Hammer program. I had already decided that I would join the Federalist Party and would try to gain a seat in congress sometime in future after learning more about the game. Once I joined both Fed and Shield I learned that I would be able grow here and be of some use even being new to the game and more so in the future.

Upon joining I tried to find where I could be useful as I learned more about the game. This would lead me start working for the fun department as a staff member. My activity in the fun department and forums would soon have me being offered another job as a quarter-master for the Hammer program. This was a job I would not have thought I would have been offered until much later. I’m not sure where my next responsibilities will lead me, but I hope to be able to do my best at whatever comes my way.

The Hammer program offers much for those who are willing to put forth the effort to help themselves and the MU. I am so glad to be part of it. I just hope to be a guide to future initiates of shield and the Hammer program as well as being there for the agents working hard. All of this will take time as I grow as a player. The Hammer initiates are truly the kings in this game of chess waiting to become more powerful pieces to help guide the next kings to victory.

dk3dknight here and I got together with Kevin Sheridan in the storied Fed Library since he had some exciting things to reveal about the No Fed Left Behind Program.

dk: First off Kevin lets start with a introduction. Tell us about yourself.
Kevin: I've been P/H all of my short eLife, aside from running NFLB, I', also the director of Fedex and SHIELD's hammer program. Recently, I've also taken over as deputy for the DoI.

dk: What is No Fed Left Behind?
Kevin: NFLB is a supply program with a twist. It basically hands out food and weapons to young players, with Feds getting the best supplies. It has four goals: helping out young players, encouraging party activity, strengthening the relationship between Feds and their party, and finally, bridging the online game and the meta-game, nothing makes me happier than seeing an in-game Fed post in the forum for the first time because of a NFLB mission.

dk: What are the strengths of NFLB?
Kevin: It's easy to use and brings you the quick win, you don't have to be a very active Fed to enjoy its advantages.

dk: I've heard rumors about missions can you go into more detail with us regarding that.
Kevin: NFLB is an outreach program, we'll get to you. If you're under lvl 36, expect our PMs. From there it's quite intuitive, and we're here to help,

dk: What are the future plans of the NFLB program?
Kevin: What are the future plans for NFLB you ask? Well, sometimes I have crazy dreams about NFLB being a Fed equivalent to Shield's Hammer. Taking young players through a series of activities in order to teach them about the meta-game and the party, trying to push them towards political and media modules the same way Hammer promotes their military gaming experience. Sadly, young Feds activity levels can't justify such an effort these days.
Aside from that, I'd be happy to receive any suggestion about NFLB or mission ideas…

Thanks for joining us Kevin!

CONGRESS ELECTIONS

by nickbergman
Congress Elections are upon us once again. It will be a tough month to try and repeat the 19 seats we were able to grab last month. We have a list or 34 candidates for WookyJack to prioritize. We have many long standing well known Feds on the list; Molly Emma, The Original Hawkie, Trekker Tlumac and Mazzy_Cat are on the list of those running. We have an ecletic mix of people that have been around for a little while but haven't earned old fgt status yet; SodaKnight, Thomas_Killah, Scott Coyle, and Kevin Sheridan. Then we have our newly minted Feds. The newbs ripe for molding into the fututre of our Proud and Horny agenda. The likes of Slybabymichelle and AceViper. We are a party with a storied history that remembers our to help better mold our future. That future is bright with the Federalists as the #1 party in the eUSA. We have our very own Congress School for our newbs to train and gain experience and learn the ropes, and the do's and short but very important don'ts. This is open to everyone in the eUSA to learn the ropes and get better aquainted to the meta game politics. You can request access here.

So remember to vote the Federalist party this month for congress. Our mix of old and new will be sure to represent your experiences and views. Your wondering how this could be. It's because while we have a general sense of direction and feelings towards issues, we do not have a line to tow. We encourage our congress members to vote with their hearts and beliefs. We don't expect anyone to feel pressured to vote a certain way just because it's the party stance. So vote Federalist the 24th not because we're the #1 party, but because we're the party of everyone from newb to old.
This has been nick.bergman with Fed Press. Stay Proud, Stay Horny, Stay FED UP.

EXTRA PROUD AND IMPORTANT EVENTS
Leadership Interview
Hello folks, nickbergman long time Media Director sat down with me over some Applejacks for a special interview, I figured he had interviewed so many people that maybe its his turn to be interviewed for once.

dk: Howdy nickbergman
NB: How's it going Bro DiMaggio
dk: Very good

dk: Im actually going to interview a member of leadership every paper but I kinda want to do a special one first with you, you've been media director for a long time and I think very few people have gotten the chance to know you
NB: Sounds good

dk: What brought you the media department?
NB: WookyJack actually.
dk: How did that happen?
NB: Well I just started writing stuff in my own paper after a generous donation from IndexInfinity
dk: And den....
NB:I got noticed by WookyJack and asked to start contributing to Fed Press then eventually was asked to contribute to WHPR. After a while WookyJack asked me to be his deputy for media. After he moved onward and upward I took over(as director) during Apollo's tenure as PP, there was a brief time with A^2 at the helm between Wookyjack and myself, but I wasn't sure I wanted the responsibility.

dk: What has been the most fun as Media Director?
NB: Interviewing people... just about anyone. It's fun coming up with the questions, being creative and drawing out people's personalities showing the attraction and fun we have together in the Federalist party and why we are the #1 Party, the attraction of the party that is. I mean we are an attractive bunch don't get me wrong...

dk: What is one thing in media you wish you could change?
NB: People's hesitancy to get involved with it People shy away from it because they don't think they can write well or have spelling and grammar issues, but that's what the directors and deputy directors are for. Also Vote Buying I wish it wasn't the evil necessity it is
dk: (AMEN)

dk: So what are your plans for the future? Party President Run? Country President Run?
NB: I've delved into national politics with congress, and that's about as far as I think I'd like to go down that road, but PP run could be an eventuality I might be ok with. We'll see I kinda like doing other things, but hey another medal would be ok too.

dk: Well thank you for joining us and I hope to live up to the many great directors that have come before me.
NB: I'm sure you will and like always I'll be here to help and support you and anyone
else that would like to get involved in media or anywhere else in the party, everone needs to write some P/H stuff.

Thanks Nick for joining us.

And now for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
We want to introduce our new policy for choosing who we interview we call it
