Fingerguns for Party President!

FEDS4LIFE

I am going to keep this bit somewhat short- Even though this is an election I am very much hoping to win, I am already Vice President and have been putting plans into action all month. The FBI is about to be put to the test. The FOP is being reorganized to include automated systems. R+R/Mentoring has a new plan of action that will get more party members on the job and reach more citizens than ever before. EZC is recognized as the top party militia in the US and our leaders there are influencing national policy. They continue to attract new citizens to the party and have done wonders for our retention and activity levels. As Party President, I will continue to work on these things, and also tackle our media and election issues.

However, instead of laying out a bunch of operational details for the next month, I want you to know what is on my mind right now and why I want this job. (this part is not so short)

There is a glass ceiling in the Federalist Party and I think I put it there. It wasn't something intentional, but rather a smart design for a 6th party. We aren't a 6th party anymore. With our growing party membership and higher levels of activity, more and more members are crashing right into a wall where they can no longer advance. People are becoming frustrated as they are unable to achieve more than a mid-level position after months of dedicated work. Our party leaders are really good at what they do, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? But it IS broken. The Federalist Party was built on enhancing the full gaming experience for ALL members. While we have done an excellent job of educating new citizens and keeping people active, I think we haven't really addressed helping experienced members advance in the game. Because of this, we haven't fully evolved into the Top 5 powerhouse we should be.

I've been pondering this recently and I think we need to be doing more to raise the public profile of not only this party, but our best members that embody what the party is all about. I think we need to rework a bit of our party structure to facilitate advancement. Although we kinda sucked a fat one at election time, a number of Feds were hired on for Cabinet positions. This is great news because it is going to open up leadership positions for the mid-level members that have been patiently waiting their turn. At least it should. By being Federalist party leaders and participating in the party organization, we are qualified for national service. I know my job as Chief of Staff is more or less exactly the same thing as being Party President. That's what Feds mean by small government... same thing, smaller scale. The experience I had in the FOP made me a good military officer, as both jobs are all about communication and helping the group of people you are responsible for. They're even organized in similar ways. What we learn in the Feds helps us in the game, no matter what we choose to do. So let's get people up and out there!

I think we are in a position to help our members get further, even at the higher levels of the game. Those Feds-turned-national-leaders got there pretty much on their own. Honestly, it's a flaw in the party design... my design. If I had my way, you guys would never run for Congress and never go for national positions. If we have good, hard-working people, I want them working for the party. Citizenslave shared this attitude, but admittedly he fought more aggressively to get you guys into Congress than I did. National politics is the number one cause of ragequit, and a part of me is relieved when we lose those elections. I don't want you guys to leave the game because of the drama. Congressional negotiations, for me, are more about finding a process that works for everyone and less about playing to win. But I realize now that it isn't fair to our members who want and deserve to be in Congress. National politics benefits from Fed influence. I could be doing more... the whole party could.

I want to fix this, and I think I know how to do it.

We have reached a point where everyone needs to step up. We need to be training the next generation of national and party leaders. Just looking at the last couple of PP elections, it's kind of ridiculous that we don't have more people applying for the job as there are many people that I think would do very well. I look at the party leadership staff and the names don't change much from term to term, despite those individuals becoming national figures. We tie people down to their party jobs and come to rely on them so heavily, they won't give up their party roles as they advance in the game. If I am elected Party President, I hope to facilitate some turnover. We have enough great people to correctly manage departments, and I want to provide us with some direction... something I think has been lacking.

Now, I know it is silly to write a PP campaign article saying I want more leadership turnover when I have already served like 3 months as Party President and hold a high level executive position in the White House. I am seriously hoping that I don't have to run for PP again. If I do my job right, this time next month we are going to have some great options for Party President, and they will be people that have never held the position before. My time for running this party was last summer... it's someone elses time now. But I think we have been SO focused on helping newbs, we have done a disservice to our experienced members. We have neglected to help long-time players reach their full potential in the party and, outside of Congressional elections, we do literally nothing to help our members succeed at the national level. If elected, I will dedicate this month to training new party leaders, finding new opportunities for experienced players to spread their wings and getting crazy partisan in advertising the party and promoting our members.

Feds are best.
