Farewell eNetherlands

Day 2,058, 18:11 Published in Norway Norway by Jasper Zuidema

Greetings fellow Dutchmen 🙂

Some of you have known that I had applied for Norwegian citizenship, which got accepted not to long ago, I am happy to be partaking in such a great community and would like to thank my fellow Norwegians for being helpful and accepting,Your making my experience awesome, so I have decided to write an article as a farewell to the Netherlands.

For those that know me, You'll know that I'm a real life Dutch citizen but reside in Ontario Canada, lately we have been bombarded with very bad weather and events here, terrible flooding in Alberta, forest fires and train derailments in Quebec and even here in Ontario, it has rained so much that there was more than a foot of water in some places in Toronto (From what I heard on the news) and in Kitchener flooding was bad enough to close the fairview mall down and people needed to be evacuated. The above picture Is just an example of the extremely dark clouds I saw while driving though Drayton before a deluge happened when I got back to work (Lucky for me my van leaks on the drivers side) so I get a shower in the van too

I have enjoyed my time in eNetherlands,Being a 2nd CO for Praetorian Guard (Will continue my work for now) and making sure that everyone within our MU is informed to get our avatar/has it. I also got to serve a term in the Dutch cabinet as the vMoFA along side SpikyJade2700, Joshua Morriseau and Walhallah. I think we did an awesome job as a team and It was a pleasure to have worked along side such a fantastic group, I encourage any new players who wants to get involved with politics to take up a term as a SS like I had to get the experience and feel for it and I would like to thank van Spijck for having given me the opportunity.

So why then, If I was involved did I not choose to stay within eNetherlands? You probably will have heard this answer before, I just don't see eNL going anywhere in the near future, I want to expand my experience and interests, but being within eNL has proven quite hard to accomplish what I'd like to do.

I just don't like being caught between the constant bickering within our country, everyone pointing fingers at one another and complaining about the smallest of things, how will we ever work together as a nation, for unity if we are all divided amongst ourselves. I want to work as part of a team, but its incredibly difficult to do this in such an environment, and the state is just no longer attractive to us newer players.

That does not mean that I don't want to see whats best for eNL, I will continue to contribute my time to PG as well as serving as Ambassador for Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Philippines and keeping in close contact with the people that I know here.

Coming towards my conclution, I'm happy that I have gotten the opportunity to get to know you all, I hope that I can continue to work with some of you, and I wish the best of luck to those in eNetherlands and their endeavors.

Kind Regards,

Jasper Zuidema
