Letting Iran Stay: We're not worried about our next-door neighbors so much, but perhaps you are misremembering that time when the FYROM rats ASed us from afar. Iran is still a deterrent against Airstrikes while we rebuild. And yes, Iran certainly benefits from staying here - we're still in their debt for freeing us from the aforementioned rat infestation, and also Croatia.

I'm not sure how being broke and friendless would improve our situation any. Perhaps you should confer with that nitwit Oinyo, who believes we'd be better off permanently occupied by hostile foreigners. Iran is weak and can't do anything to help us even if an air strike comes. If anyone wanted to come, they'd air trike them then NE us. Besides we have neighbors who have helped us in the past and could help us in the future if we need them like Portugal and France, so maybe we should be working closer with them instead of giving out handouts to Iran.

The 'government' PM includes IBB (our CP), klop, Xichael, ED, Bryan and assorted others. In other words the same people running things before the dictator thing. IBB doesn't want Rylde to step down. IBB contacted all the people in the MU PM to ask what they thought was best as the dictator thing is military based. There was no dissension. Bryan is in charge of Canada's money.

If you don't like the dictatorship that's fine. State your complaint but quit lying about what's going on just to get uninformed people upset. That tactic was tried already. Actually this is the one thing that would make me support a counter-revolution. Powerless Congress should be unpaid Congress.

I said my piece in my comment above. I would mention that Anaconda has been taking great pains to be a participating member of the community for several months. That makes me happy because he's an active player that uses his mind and not just his mouth. I don't care if someone has an opinion that is different from my own. What does concern me is when someone expresses an opinion and has no fact to back it up.

For some reason we are being told that Rylde "took" the government when, in fact, he was given the government. There are several governments that wish they had done what we did, look here at Joseph Rich's article.

When all this was thrust on us at the spur of the moment there was no time to consider what we should do and absolutely no time to write an article to get public opinion. FWIW I took the change, as I'm sure some others did, as a lulz thing. My first reaction was to attempt a coup myself to be dictator. Others that actually read and comprehended what the change meant cautioned me against doing that as Rylde was set to take over as dictator. When I stopped to assess what they were talking about I agreed. The only reason Pickle's Patriots did not fight for Rylde was because the coup happened while I was asleep. I immediately PM'ed my MU that if they wished to fight for Rylde that they were free to move to CAF as the MU was locked out by game mechanics.

Finally, I'd like to say that, the way the rules work, this is a bad change for politics. It opens small and medium countries up for PTO. It removes one more piece of the strategy that once was eRep and makes it more of a crappy war game. However that is a different problem

I dont have a problem with dictatorship in place so that we are protected from a PTO. I have a problem with the dictator not being the cp (if ibb wont do it we can impeach). And i have a problem with rylde lording it over us like he owns the place.

So two items then. Rylde needs to run for CP on the 5th (which he was going to do anyway) and he needs to quit "lording" it over us. Could you please cite where he is "lording", I missed that part.

It's one thing to take a dig at Rylde for being dictator, quite another to take a dig at Iran who just saved our sorry asses from perpetual wipe...

Yes they helped us from a wipe just like proper allies would and should they need our help I would be the first to go help them. But that doesn't mean we owe them anything and definitely not a permanent presence here.

Like I said, they wont be able to do anything to help us if someone comes for us so there really isnt any point to them being here

They went beyond what normal allies do. They spent over 1,000,000cc just to come help us. We definitely do owe them. Since they spent that much money, it's not unreasonable to allow them to hold some regions to show for their effort. No one said permanent, but they will be here for a while. They would definitely be able to help us, if we were under serious attack they could NE the attacker in a worst-case scenario. Their presence also makes people think twice about attacking us, because if they wanted to wipe Canada they would also have to contend with Iran.

This the least we can do to thank them for their help. I am extremely grateful to Iran and this is a small price to pay to show them our gratitude.

I'm sure that many people, myself included, agree that taxes in eRep should be painful and debilitating. Far more than Mr. Rylde has mandated. But, the fact is that if congress was effective and if congress was played the way the developers intended, we wouldn't need dictators to manage the game. This is what happens when the players try to rewrite the rules of the game with their goofy meta shite.
