Empress Day is ongoing! Empress Day, for those who don't know, is eJapan's (and one of the eWorld's) longest running traditions. Our first and eternal Emperor of eJapan, Kokawayoshi Makoto, would take a girl from Japanese animated media and crown them the honorary Empress of eJapan. Even though our Emperor is no longer with us, this proud tradition of our people continues to today.

Our first candidate is Re-I Mayer from Ergo Proxy

Embodiment of the no-nonsense personality, 19-year old Inspector Re-l Mayer of the Citizen Intelligence Bureau is in charge of investigating a series of brutal murders apparently committed by AutoReivs infected with the Cogito virus. She is also the granddaughter of Donov Mayer, the Regent of Romdo. Given her privileged status, she expects respect from people around her, and speaks as such (she addresses Vincent as "o-mae"). Re-l accompanies Vincent on his journey in order to learn more about the mysterious Proxies, but having been living in comfortable conditions and being spoilt by Iggy all her life, she finds the "outdoor hiking" experience increasingly unbearable, and throws tantrums at both of them (often with comical effects). During the period that they get stranded without wind, she passes time by taking the both of them as study subjects. Her narration reveals her to be a very analytical person. Re-l is a young woman who wears black clothes, has black hair and is known for her blue eyeshadow. She eventually comes to share Vincent's feelings, but shows it subtly.



Our next possible Empress-to-be is Madotsuki from Yume Nikki!



There wasn't a good bio I could find on her, but from what I could gather, she is a pretty sheltered hikikomori who travels through her own dreams and explores her expansive dream world, and it looks much darker and gritter than I would have first imagined for sure.

Our final contestant is Winry Rockbell from Fullmetal Alchemist



Winry is a 15- to 16-year-old mechanic who often spends time with the central characters, brothers Edward (Ed) and Alphonse Elric (Al). A close childhood friend of the pair since their young life in Resembool, she is almost like a sister to the two and essentially their only family. An amateur surgeon and mechanical repair specialist/enthusiast, Winry is Edward's rear line support as his personal automail engineer and mechanic, making sure his prosthetic right arm and left leg are always in good working order. Additionally, she provides a great deal of emotional support for the pair and plays the role of Edward's love interest.
