Democratic Socialist Party - History

Some time back in eAustralia, I started up a party named 'Democratic Socialist Party'. This party was largely successful, and a major hit amongst the new people of eAustralia at the time. (Almost every single newbie joined, as well as some experienced members of the community) We took up a large percentage of congress and even came in a close second in a CP election due to our policies, I then however left eAustralia to help eUK in their war against eCanada, and I joined ESO here as it was the closest thing to the DSP I had created and built in eAustralia. (Now been taken over as the KnightHawks Military Council)



Proposal

This party was much fun, and our policies definitely helped player retention. Almost all newbies that joined with us stayed with eRepublik, and we definitely made a stronger eAustralia through our schemes.

I now wish to bring this party to the eUK. Find below a list of the benefits that my policies and schemes proposals would have to the larger eUK reputation, as retention right now is currently very poor.

The party will be once again named the Democratic Socialist Party. I'm thinking of 'PTOing' the old UKAP party as it's now defunct, although if people are against this I'd be more than happy to create a new party from nothing.

Last Experiment: Positive Effects on eAustralia

This is how we benefited the wider community in eAustralia, and I'm sure it would do the same in the eUK.

-Increased retention through the schemes
-A third major political power, making elections fun again
-Getting people very much involved into the game, who otherwise would just be two-clickers
-A party that newbies can feel comfortable and confident in getting involved with
-Training for all new members
-Stronger generation through funding
-Extra damage in battles as a the 'War Pack' scheme (giving out weapons and food so people can fight)


Proposed Policies and Schemes

Just some of our policies and schemes I propose. Some have been changed from the old DSP policies as the eUK has a much better government infrastructure. This is just a very brief summary to give people an idea of what we'd stand for.

New Citizens
-Referring new citizens to the NHS and part-funding their development
-Mentoring new citizens
-Very strong emphasis on getting new citizens involved (I'll publish my proven methods separately at a later date)
-RL Friend referral program (I basically pay people extra for RL friends they refer, on top of the standard eRepublik bonuses)
-Business Packs (X amount of currency or gold to give new citizens a headstart in the economic module)

All (Experienced & New) Citizens
-War Packs (Weapons and food in order to fight)
-Trade Unity Various trade deals with other members
-DSP Companies (DSP employees earn 20% more in their wages)
-SDU (Socialist Defence Unit - our personal MU which will be intergrated into the day-to-day runnings of the party)

Party
-DSP Treasury (A treasury for the party and monthly budgets so we can plan and organise exactly what ideas and schemes we're going to do each month)
-Political Alliances (I'm particularly interested in forming some kind of alliance with a similar left-wing party, more on this will come soon)
-Unique Structure (We had a unique hierarchy in the old DSP which people, particularly new citizens, had a great time getting involved with to include them in to the wider community and political module)

Military
-Restructure of the MoD (Changes will be reversible for future parties who win CP elections, this will be discussed in a separate article)

Economy
-Tax policies TBD
-International trade treaties will be discussed and promoted with allies

A lot more will be discussed at a later time after internal discussion with party members.

Left Wing Unity

I urge members of all left-wing, and maybe right-wing party members who want a change, to unite under a strong party which will take role-playing the political module to the next level. We'll stick strongly to our policies and try to keep things as socialist as possible. I find eRepublik is much more fun this way.

Strict Rules

After developments in the eUK, I don't want the DSP to get involved in this big debate between the top parties. There will be a strict douchebag amnesty meaning members who delibarately cause trouble for the wider eUK community will be shunned. The whole idea of this party is to bring unity to the United Kingdom so we can rise strong from this period of internal conflict.

I particularly need 3-4 people to hold director positions in the party as well as somebody to run our Military Unit for us. (Funding will be provided from the DSP Treasury, MU leader would be chosen solely for their skills in organising and running our militia)
