Day 3,107 - Die Volkischer Beobachter - New Beginnings

Day 3,107, 14:40 Published in Albania Albania by Dieu DeMort
Overall Changes

Many things have changed since I last left, both with the game, and with the political map.

There's now resources and stuff. Still not completely sure as to how they are allocated and captured, but it would appear that a special war is declared to take another country's resources. For example, through last night and this morning, we fought a resource war to take oil. Now that we have oil, all Albanian citizens (I believe) gain a +20% production bonus to all weapon supplies. While it may not be my place to speculate, I believe that this will disproportionately help the large nations, like Serbia, who will be able to get all of the best resources for their own citizens, and assist their allies in doing the same, while denying them to the opposing sides.

State of the State

While we have lost the majority of our homeland of de jure Albania, we have invaded the Philippines, and Greece. In the Philippines, we have nearly crushed the native government, and are marching on their capital now. Soon all that we will have to deal with there is a handful of resistance fighters. In Greece, however, while we have conquered much more valuable land, the going has been much slower.

In terms of taxes, our Greek regions can be expected to turn out between 8,500 ALL and 13,000 ALL, while our capital only outputs about 675 ALL to 900 ALL. Even that, though, dwarfs the maximum of 52 ALL that we receive from our Philippine holdings.

Europe

Ireland, who was a somewhat emerging powerhouse when I had left, has crumbled, and now barely has control of their own homeland, having lost swaths of it to a combination of the United States and Bulgaria.

Romania and Hungary have done decent jobs of expanding themselves, Hungary managing to push straight through Austria to start eating the southern half of Germany, and Romania managing to tear apart most of Ukraine, and parts of Belarus.

Italy is still mostly conquered by Serbia, unfortunately, however they have taken more of their land than they had when I was last here.

The Rest of the World

Contrary to many of my previous speculations, it seems that Mexico, Cuba, and Singapore have all managed to stay liberated. It's an interesting prospect to see if maybe we could invade Singapore, as I could hardly tell that they were still independent until I zoomed all the way in on the map. If we did conquer them, I doubt that anyone would even notice.

Canada has lost their lands again, after getting them back from us. They have been invaded by Serbia, and while Canada was busy trying to beat back the Serbs, the United Arab Emirates invaded and took some land for themselves.

The United States is proving to have been unexpectedly (at least for me) imperialistic while I was gone, invading both Mexico and the British Isles.

Shorter paper, but I had to delete two entire sections as they were no longer relevant, and I have nothing to put there. As always, friends, if there's anything I could do better, feel free to let me know. I'm always afraid that these short papers are boring, not informative, and really just a waste of time.

If there's anything you want to talk about, just PM me. I'd like to know what I could do better, or if there's anything else you'd like to see added to the paper.

Until later,
