Day 1650 - The UK declares Ireland as it's natural enemy.

Day 1,650, 03:16 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Norfolk
Background

For many, many months the UK had been at war with Ireland, throughout the war both sides had periods of complete dominance but recently it was the Irish who dominated with help from TEDEN allies France and Canada. The UK spent three months without a congress due to TEDEN's occupation of UK regions and was running low on funds for the military and government projects. It was at this time that the UK government decided to hold talks with the Irish government on a peace deal.

The talks concluded with Ireland giving the UK Dublin and Louth and the UK giving Ireland Scotland and Northern Ireland. This swap gave the UK a fruits region but much more importantly, one less war at a time where it would be vital in the resistance movement. In return Ireland got Northern Ireland, a region with a lot of meaning for the Irish and Scotland which gives them a border with Denmark, giving the Irish a chance to expand eastwards.

Present

Now we come back to today where the UK and Ireland have declared each other natural enemies. This is not a violation of the peace agreement. The UK doesn't hold Dublin or Louth at this time which they are entitled to under the agreement so have declared war to take these regions. Once Dublin and Louth are taken, both congresses will vote on a peace deal and the British Isles will be free from war for the first time this year.

That's all for now, I'll be releasing a new article tonight with an overview of the ONE versus TEDEN war in Europe, until then, farewell.
