Computers Versus Cars (funny)

Computers v Cars
For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.
At COMDEX, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:
1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.
2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.
4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive, but would run on only five percent of the roads.
6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light.
7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.
8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
9. Every time a new car was introduced, car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again, because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
10. Oh yeah, and last but not least . . . you'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off!

Try to post only Erepublik Related...
What? How can you say that, Meadow? Seriously.
No chocolate for YOU.
Only Erepublik related Binda.
If eRepublik had determined to resist freedom of the press, why would they allow users to create newspapers and write their own articles.
On the other hand, if you feel that this type of article is a waste of time, then don't waste your time reading it... much less more of your time to respond.
lwarrior1 and Meadow, shame be to you.
Why the heck would articles be only eRepublik related? Do you people have no sense of humor? Atleast back in eAmerica there is more than eRepublik related nonsense in the media.
lol that was good
Meadow and IWarrior1, don't you ever read the funnies in the newspaper?
I really think there is enough articles about eRepublic, and was trying for something fun and different. If I get an official reply that is the same as yours then I'm quitting this game.
Binda33, you will never get such a message.
ever
Binda, I am curious as to what you mean by "Official reply".
When these people respond saying that, it's just become a habit. We've had a lot of odd junk run through eRep newspapers (On one occasion I believe someone even had to spam to cover up something embarassing) and it's just really a real pain in the crack to see them come up.
I personally do like to see eRepublik related content, but I've seen worse spam hit the top, so you're fine in my books 🙂.
comedy is essetial in real life, why not in eRep? keep those jokes comming!
I went and read the rules, and here they are:
2. No citizen should oppress another citizen.
2.1. Racism, extremism, trolling, flaming and pornography are prohibited.
2.2. No insult, public accusation without proof, or indirect attack on a citizen are allowed.
3. Freedom of press is absolute (without breaking amendments 2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2)
3.1. No vulgarity, insult, spam, or advertising for external products or services are allowed.
3.2. Quotation of private discussion without the consent of those parties involved is prohibited. If a citizen reports a quotation of a private discussion, it goes without saying that the action has not been approved by the reporting citizen.
Notice rule 3 please. 🙂
Also notice rules 2, and 2.1.
