Hey everyone,

I haven't been able to write an article in quite some time due to academic commitments but now that the exams are finally over I hope to get a bit more active again! (If you want, you can all wish me good luck in my results I'll be getting Thursday)

I also hope you like my new banner. It's pretty simple but I like it. If anyone would like me to make me to make them a banner just PM me and we can sort something out 🙂

In addition to all my above ramblings, I'm considering writing a few articles in Irish and I would love to hear your input on the matter so please comment or PM me!

So, let's get into what this article is actually about... coding. I've recently started coding as I need to design a webpage for my summer research project for my university. To say the least, it is NOT easy. I spent around 30 minutes trying to fix my HEAD (It's where you see "eRepublik" in the tab list 😃 ) and in the end the big error was an extra space in the line of code. Putting it mildly, I was very annoyed with myself.

I'm actually loving coding though. When it works you just feel so accomplished.

Have any of you had any experience with coding? Either positive or negative 😛
I've no doubt that there will be a few expert coders on eRepublik, feel free to help me if you are one!

I'm going to keep it short and sweet so that's it! I hope you're all doing excellently and I'm sure we'll be talking again soon.

I volunteered at a CoderDojo for a few years but only in an admin role...does that count 😛

although i probably could outcode all but a few on this game whs i never discuss coding. when i am not tormenting your souls or working on my nursery/greenhouse or in my professional career i am most of the time working on programming projects of my own. this just shows your spectacular ignorance again whs. but what is new. how very disappointing the implication.

I am creating and sharing a program with the community but help me with code is very disambiguate - there is so many paths that i cant help her with everything. micutzu would be a better bet if its just webpages etc. thats why i am sharing a program with her

I wrote a few programs in BASIC many, many years ago, but I wouldn't consider myself a coder. I did, however, type several hundred lines of machine code (not my own) into a ZX80 with a wobbly RAM pack back in 1980 so I know what frustration is all about.

No, you're definitely not the oldest, Sweet. I was tempted by the Commodore Pet, but there was no way I could afford £399 as a schoolboy back in 1976, so Uncle Clive's innovations were a godsend.

Go ahead and ppublish articles in Irish. This is eIreland after all. I have very little myself, but certainly like the fact that there is someone out there who speaks our language.

Where possible could you put in some simple passages that I might have a chance of understanding, and also a little piece explaining an Irish name, or placename, like the name McAnaspie for example (even though I know that one).

Coding... buicheas le dia... ni thuigim coding.
