Candidacy for Congress

Day 2,068, 15:21 Published in South Africa South Africa by Wilpanzer

Fellow Countrymen and Countrywomen

With this article I announce my candidacy for congress for the term July/August.

It is winter time in South Africa. In the absence of snow we still submit to the icy winds penetrating our homes and workplaces. It's that element which started as a mere irritation in autumn and has now developed into a seemingly uncontested foe - the cold.

However, the African sun still provides us with some warmth. Throughout the day the warmth of the sun conquers the cold. We become warmer, being reminded that summer is just around the corner. It may require two or three months of endurance, but change is a certainty, the seasons will change.

That certainty applied to our current situation becomes obscure though. Some of us put our faith in time...we hope that time will right the wrongs of the past. We hope that disputes will settle themselves and that problems will wash away along with the dust when the summer rains come.

But what if drought creeps up? What if the rains never sweep in?

Well I say to those who want to wait it out...it will never end. The responsibility of a free eSouth Africa is ours, and only ours. If we don't prepare and right the wrongs ourselves, we'll be a slave to never-ending failure. As convenient it is for evil hopelessness will consume our hearts and minds.

That is why I've decided to take action. I am running for congress to push forward, not to fall backward.

What will you do?
