My fellow Canadians,
I come before you today because your nation needs you now more than ever. In the past we once had a vibrant community where Canadians served their nation valiantly, but now we have a nation where only a few serve while the rest sit around on their lazy asses complaining. We've come to a point where this will no longer work.
We lack leadership, we lack courage, and above all we lack strength. Why are we lacking in these areas? We lack because you will not stand up and do what needs to be done. That's right, the problem with Canada is YOU! It's not our eUS invaders, it's not our CPs, or our Congress (though they are sufficiently sh***y), but it's the everyday player who does not want to stand up and contribute. I don't know if you're lazy or you just don't know how to help, but the fact is your community needs you.
What is needed?
eCanada lacks new people willing to stand up and do the work that has been done by a very few dedicated people up until now. We need community builders, we need entertainers (writers), we need people able to take over positions such Minister of Defense, Minster of Foreign Affairs, and other vital cabinet positions. The fact is those people who have been doing these jobs day in and day out for months are getting burned out and they need a break, but due to a lack of interest and/or talent we are unable to replace them.
This is your moment to shine eCanada, this is your moment to get to work to build the eCanada we all need. Here's what you need to do to help, in the comment section if you're interested in helping in any way leave a comment as to where you are interested in helping and I will make sure all Candidates are aware. I am not running for CP, but I do plan on doing my part to help eCanada in her hour of need. Now it's your turn to help, pledge your support eCanada or we all might as well give up now.

In a nutshell, he is saying that the reason we are currently wiped is not because our enemy is vastly larger, stronger and wealthier, determined to make a point and willing to spare no expense to make that point - it's because we don't try hard enough.
When he's not poisoning the well by fomenting insurrection and creating division during wartime, he's telling us we're lazy good-for-nothings while our morale is already very low.
Not only idiotic, but dangerous to eCan's welfare.

Far from blaming for a wipe which was nigh inevitable it is a call to action after the wipe. It is all about "what do we do now" instead of "what did we do wrong". It is not idiotic in the least.
The article does not advise incessant mindless sophistry, personal vendetta and childishness such as "my contribution will be to rid eCanada of DMV3". It does invite players to play an active role in the cultural and political life of the team. The prospect of personal humiliation works in the opposite direction.
Of course you read it differently. You're an enemy. DMV seems to have an awful lot of friends like you supporting his undermining of the eCanadian government. If you love him so much, take him to Turkey with you. He can poison your wells and undermine Sirius nations for us.

Not idiotic is the idea that player activity will benefit eCanada. Look below and you will see the DillPickle saying the same. Not idiotic is the idea that now may a time for eCanada to shine, to invent new ways of expressing itself culturally and politically. Not idiotic is the idea that the wipe isn't a complete catastrophe, there is still scope for the team to act vigorously: Rylde the grumpy optimist seems to agree and I saw a funny cartoon from Ralph saying the same. But, of course, if everything is always all about DMV3.... well that is a different script.
For the record, I am willing to contribute. My contribution will be my continued advocacy to see DMV3's citizenship revoked.
We can't afford to lose active contributors even if their contribution is largely trolling. So no, let's not revoke anyone's citizenship, the wipe will be attrition enough.
DMV is a smart player and if he's decided to build rather than undermine, now is the perfect time to cheer him on. I too decide to read this as a call to action.
When DMV pretends he has decided to "build," it is tantamount to undermining. Nothing he does is in the best interest of Canada - it serves only the best interest of DMV3. He's a snake and a well-poisoner.
The biggest lesson ive learned over the last 4ish years is that I wasted alot of time contributing
blame the game not the player, there isnt much incentive to contribute more then a click here and a click there
If you've contributed and not quit, it's really hard not to keep contributing from time to time. I'm sure there is an interesting psychological case study to be made about this game and its players.

Ive actually told people I was willing to do some roles and help out, but no one got back to me. Unless you are in the "Cool Group", as they would say in highschool, you dont get in.

I don't belong to any "group". I high school I was in the group that had no group. I also had friends in many of the "cool groups" as you call them. Many could not understand why I made no effort to fit in. Guess I'm just a nonconformist at heart. 🙂
I notice that your account is over 4 years old and you mostly done nothing with it. I've seen this before, it is not new. If you are wanting to be more active you need to change tactics. I don't normally poach people from other MU's because I think it's tacky. In your case I don't think CoI would be horribly offended if you moved to pickles. I will send you an invite to Pickle's Patriots. We are the nonconformists of eRep but we also have a reputation of getting shit done. (Except for me, I'm pretty much a lazy ass anymore. 😃 ) I'll send more information in PM. Let's see what you've got.
I had stopped playing for 2 years. My account does not show everything. I was actually congress member for at least 6 terms, I was also MoD, and one of the branch commanders of the CAF. I came back and I messaged former people I know. I talked to the party president I am in (Which I was one of the original first members of) as well as the current administration, but no one cares about an old guard like me. The only group that really took me in was the MU.

Like I said above, being MIA is nothing new. Many good players pay more attention to RL and just idle in eRep because they like to hang around and watch. I understand that CoI have stood by you now that you've shown an interest to be involved again. I applaud them for that, it's good to know they care. Whatever MU you are in, if you want into politics answer my PM and lets talk. You are exactly the kind of person Canada needs right now.
