Poland's attack on Russia was followed by Hungary's Declaration of War against Russia as well.
If the Hungarian DoW passes then it looks like Poland and Hungary are trying again to get to China. As long as only Poland would have attacked Russia, Poland's official excuse that "we had to attack, because our players are bored and leave the game" might have had some credibility.
Hungary on the other hand had no reason to go after Russia, except for one: China's currency reserves are so high that Poland alone ran a very high risk of failure.
By attacking China with both Poland and Hungary via the "Northern Route" and, quite likely, with FYROM and Serbia via the "Southern Route", TWO hopes to deplete the Chinese reserves and thus increase the probability of a successful invasion.
The problem with this plan is the Chinese treasury can match Poland + Hungary + Serbia + FYROM treasuries and still have 4 million CC to spend on additional defense. Even if somehow the Americans, whose foreign policy is a mess since last July, decide to also join the attack, China has enough resources to arm and feed enough mercenaries and allies to defeat all the attacks.
Cand any good come out of this?
Yes, provided EDEN sets its priorities right. As long as the war with Russia continues, Bulgaria and FYROM would be much easier to evict from the Middle East.
It is hard to predict if the attack of TWO on a member of CoT would significantly change CoT policy towards EDEN but it is worth trying to first eliminate FYROM and Bulgaria from the Middle East and then to offer them the possibility to invade TWO's territories, this time with EDEN's blessing and support.
Bulgaria and FYROM cannot be both on good terms with EDEN and in the Middle East because there's no way to connect their cores to the current Middle-Eastern territories they hold in a way that doesn't imply screwing up some EDEN countries.
On the other hand, the rivalry between FYROM and Bulgaria on one side, and Greece and Turkey on the other side, is asymmetric: Greece and Turkey do not get any thrills from fighting FYROM or Bulgaria. Those wars exist only because some people from FYROM and Bulgaria feel good about scoring "victories" on a computer screen and thus compensating for failures in Real Life.
If somehow reason prevails both in FYROM and Bulgaria, then CoT can start acting like an alliance with a backbone, and kick TWO's butt for the unprovoked attack on Russia.
TWO has the merit of grouping the countries with the longest history of rogue behavior in eRepublik (yeah, birds of same feather do flock together). In the Real World they would correspond to an alliance formed by North Korea, Zimbabwe, Myanmar (Burma) and Sudan. So the only reason CoT was allied with them until recently was because of the visceral hatred against Greece and Turkey some players in FYROM and Bulgaria had.
I am skeptical hatred would be defeated by dignity, but miracles sometimes do happen.
So the first step for EDEN would be to evict Bulgaria and FYROM from the Middle East and then, instead of stupidly looking for "revenge", to attempt a peace treaty and an alliance against the certified rogues of eRepublik.

And history is clear: Macedonia is the kingdom (and lately, the empire) of Alexander the Great, not a Slavic entity which had no idea how to name themselves after centuries of Turkish occupation.

I had a bad experience in Thessaloniki (where I was in a business trip), and I told my business partner something about Macedonia. He was very insulted. I think EDEN should offer popcorn to spectators and enjoy the show. If fighting is the issue, there are plenty of members and supporters that could use some help in RWs to kick both CoT and TWO out. That should be the priority of EDEN, liberating all members and supporters.
Taking a broader view, CoT was formed both because of some hormonal thinking in Bulgaria and Chile AND because of similarly brain-dead decisions in the EDEN camp.
In the EDEN-CoT story, both sides were busy screwing up. The smartest thing would therefore be to bury the past and start anew.
In the case of TWO there is little ambiguity: the alliance groups together those with the longest history of backstabbing, secret deals with the enemy and selfishness. Both the members of EDEN and the members of CoT have good reasons to kick TWO's butt.
Maybe so, but if we help them now, when TWO is down guess what CoT would do next? And who would help them do it all over again?
Sooner rather than later Loland will ask for NAP because 10/10 >>>> deleting China. So this war won't last and because of that, liberate regions from the one that has the upper hand in the conflict.

below is the prime specimen of average Lulgarian player. You really think that any deal with such a group would be possible? Their history of breaking agreements tells me to stay away from them as far as possible.
In the last year eRepublik gameplay was way different than Risk. A Risk-like strategy would have implied Terra staying alive.
TWO is not exactly an easy target because only a few strong CoT countries border them. The others would have to fight via MPPs, which would make it easier for TWO to defend successfully.
This is why I believe if CoT and TWO go at war with each other, the war would last.

we offered turkey and Greece NAPs, they didn't agree because "it is insulting for them to be with their originals only", this all happens in a time when 90% of EDEN can't even show up on the map, but Greece and Turkey care about their resources only. I feel ashamed to even been allied in the past to this scum really, lots of countries have been greedy and selfish bastards in this game at some point but turkogreeks are worst of the worst

E interesant de ce polacii au atacat Kaliningrad si nu linia directa spre China. Probabil le e frica sa nu lase in urma teritorii rusesti care sa ii poata ataca in regiunile core. Sau doar testeaza terenul atacului si intre timp incearca sa astearna diplomatia la lucru?
Posibile sunt ambele variante. Dat fiind ca nu suntem in RL, in locul lor as fi preferat un "blitz-krieg", asa rusii se pot trezi si au timp sa isi regndeasca diplomatia. Acum ramane de vazut daca Mugur Cosmin va avea acea abilitate sa ii convinga pe rusi ca putem redeveni NAP, cu obligatia de a ii ajuta. Da, urasc sa spun asta, dar o miscare inteligenta ar fi sa nu permitem celor din TWO sa atace direct baza economica a EDEN
Romper is right. EDEN should focus on its battles right now. I bet that if things turn ugly for either CoT or TWO, they will try to sign NAPs to secure their asses.
