Air Strike Against the UK / התקפה אוירית נגד בריטניה [Eng/Heb]

As you are no doubt aware eIsrael launched an air strike against the eUnited Kingdom late on Monday night.



Unfortunately the UK were able to successfully repel us, not however before the campaign went ten rounds and absorbed a huge amount of their damage and COs [set mainly by private MU Royal Air Force]. The upshot was we were a great diversion, and without wishing to steal our ally’s thunder, provided a nice drain on the UK that contributed to Canada’s rout of them in Wales.



That said, I’m not going to claim we didn’t harbour a desire to actually land in the UK. The air strike when it opened provided the best opportunity we were probably ever likely to get to successfully land an air strike against a Sirius founder: Canada had opened their campaign against the UK, Finland had opened theirs, plus the UK had a resistance war they still had to subdue, so the time was ripe to click the attack button and begin Israel’s assault. Unfortunately the UK fought smart and prioritised their weakest attacker – us – and concentrated resources there.


What was Israel’s Objective

Our LETO allies Australia have established themselves in northern Norwegian regions as part of a rental arrangement with the Norwegians. Because of the UK-Norway conflict, the UK were encroaching on Australian-held regions, with the possible threat of a UK NE of Australia, which may have eventuated in Australia’s wipe. Although landing our air strike would have been the ideal outcome, the air strike’s broader focus was to move eUK attention from the continuation of the war with Norway and a possible attack on Australia to the wars opening in their backyard led by LETO ally Canada and backed up by Asgard and France.

Australia have invested a lot in securing their Norwegian regions, and eIsrael have fought by their side in this, so it was always paramount we do what we could to alleviate the threat posed by the UK. Whether the eUK were ever planning a direct attack against Australia only the UK know. But no plan today doesn’t mean there’s not one around the corner. The joint LETO-Asgard-France attack goes a way to ensure the eUK will be bogged down in pingpong wars within their own borders for the next couple weeks at least, allowing Australia to concentrate on quelling the RWs started in their regions by RH medal hunters.



Cost

A CO arm’s race was never on the cards. I set aside one hundred Gold to support our side with COs, but only ended up spending approximately fifty, by contrast the UK must have put up hundreds of Gold worth of CO – 100cc in D4 at one point, and on occasion that figure rose to 200cc in lower divisions. So, the drain we were able to create was pretty epic.

שלום אזרחי מדינת ישראל!

בודאי ללא ספק אתם מודעים להתקפה האוירית של ישראל על בריטניה מאוחר ביום שני בלילה.



לצערינו, בריטניה הצליחה להדוף את ההתקפה שלנו מבלי שנגיע אפילו ל-10 קרבות. ספגנו נקודות נזק בכמות ענקית ובריטניה השקיעה כספים רבים על תשלום עבור נזק (שרובן הושקו על ידי היחידה הצבאית "רויאל נייבי"). נקודת האור בכל הסיפור היא שהיינו הסחה מעולה מבלי רצון "לגנוב" את ה"הבמה" מבנות בריתינו. הצלחנו לרוקן מבריטניה נזק אשר היה מוקדש לקנדה בחזית השנייה, בווילס.



אני לא אומר שבהתחלה המטרה לא היתה לנחות בבריטניה (ולנצח בקרב). כשההתקפה האוירית החלה, היא היתה ההזדמנות הטובה ביותר לנחות במדינה שייסדה את הברית "סיריוס": קנדה תקפה את בריטניה, גם פינלד ובנוסף בריטניה היתה צריכה לדכא מספר מרידות נגדה, אז התיזמון של ההתקפה היה "בשל". למרבה הצער, בריטניה נלחמה באופן חכם ותיעדפה את התוקפת החלשה ביותר - ישראל, בעדיפות גבוהה וריכזה את משאביה בקרב שלנו.
מה היתה המטרה של ישראל

בת בריתינו מ"לטו", אוסטרליה, התבססה בשטחי צפון נורבגיה כחלק מהסכם השכרת השטחים של הנורבגים. בגלל הסכסוך הבריטי-נורבגי, בריטניה תמכה באחזקת אוסטרליה על שטחי נורבגיה עם איום אפשרי של חוק "אויב טבעי" של בריטניה על אוסטרליה, שלבסוף עלול לגרום למחיקתה של אוסטרליה מהמפה. למרות שההתקפה האוירית שלנו לא הניבה תוצאות רבות, היא הובילה ממשיכת תשומת לב של הבריטים אלינו ולהסטת תשומת ליבם מהמלחמה עם נורבגיה והתקפה אפשרית על אוסטרליה,למלחמות שנפתחו ברקע כדי למנוע זאת בהצחת בת בריתינו מ"לטו", קנדה וגיבוי מלא מברית "אסגרד" וצרפת.

אוסטרליה השקיעה הרבה בהבטחת שטחיהם בנורבגיה וישראל נלחמה לצידם כדי להקל מעליהם במעט, מהאיום הבריטי. רק בריטניה עצמה יודעת אם היא תיכננה התקפה על אוסטרליה. אבל אם התכנון הזה לא יצא לפועל בהווה, זה לא אומר שהוא לא ייצא לפועל בעתיד. ההתקפה המשותפת של "לטו"-"אסגרד"-וצרפת הבטיחה שבריטניה תיתקע במלחמות "פינג פונג" לפחות בשבועות הקרובים שתתרום לאוסטליה בהתמקדות שלה במרידות בשטחיה.
עלות המלחמה

מירוץ חימוש של פקודות קרביות לא היה על השולחן. אני שמתי בצד 100 גולד לפקודות קרביות עבורינו אך לבסוף השתמשנו בערך ב-50. לעומת זאת, בריטניה בזבזה מאות. לבסוף ההוצאות של בריטניה עלינו היו מטורפות!
