This is my first article since I joined eCanada and there is a good reason for that, I suck as a writer. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get over with this.

When I first came to eCanada I said I would never get involved in politics, I was tired of it after 2 ½ years in this game. That didn’t work very well as you can see here here.

So, why AFK?
It’s AFK because that’s the way I want to play the game for sometime now. I’ve spent too much time on chat rooms and forums and shit, I want to be able to participate without having to log on in any other page other than erepublik.com. I log on more than once a day, I fight 2-3 times/day and tank occasionally, I read many articles from the national and international news yet I don’t visit the forum much, I rarely post in it and the same goes for the IRC. I dare you to call me 2-clicker.



One time I asked why all this red tape is necessary in eCanada, the answer was that “having many positions to delegate to citizens makes them get involved and it is good for morale”. Judging by what I have seen so far IT DOESN’T WORK. Rylde has declared a dictatorship, Rolo PTO’ed EPIC and controls most of the parties and all comments, shouts and articles are from the same 20-30 people in a nation with 1661 citizens. In the last congressional elections only a third of those voted.



That being said, what’s the problem with trying a different angle? Why not try a government with a big cabinet? Some say that this kind of government was the norm 3 years ago; I say that I can’t remember a government of eGreece that had less than 15 ministers and deputies. They also say that with the current game mechanics you need forums, chat rooms and a small cabinet, I say you don’t. Three years ago you didn’t have mass messages or separate shouts for parties or MU’s. I will only admit that IRC is useful to coordinate troops in a battle and only because admins were too quick to discard the national chat feature.
(it seems that they don’t need to fix bugs, feature’s cause all the problems 😛)
