A musical history

Day 2,490, 09:28 Published in Ireland Ireland by Liam Tatlock

It's been a while since the last awe-inspiring article from me, so time for another dive into my musical past. A link between the artists this time being groups that I've seen live (which really isn't as many as I'd like it to have been).

The first concert I ever went to (at Salford University) was by this group

These I saw at Hull, supporting John Cooper-Clarke. They were booed off stage by the numpties there, but I've always liked Chris Sievey for his great pop songs

I've loved Genesis since the seventies, but I've never seen the classic line-up together. I've seen them separately, but never together at their peak.

And finally back to Hull University. I missed the first Be Stiff tour with the likes of Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe & Ian Dury, so I was determined to go to the second one, which came to Hull University, where I was studying. It wasn't as good, but it didn't break the bank and was better than studying.

Next chapter will probably be groups and artists that I really would liked to have seen!
