40th Congress: Kick Into High Gear

Day 1,226, 12:27 Published in USA USA by eUSA Congress

The Speaker's Word of the Day is: "Action."

Action is something Congress doesn't often take, for any of you who are familiar with Congress, but the 40th Congress is setting itself up for some hard balling right from the get go. With a strong leadership core, and high activity from all congressman, the 40th Congress has hit the ground running.

40th Congressional Leadership
With the election of every congress comes the selection of the Speaker of the House, arguably the most important (and sometimes only) thing Congresses do. This month, in a relatively uncontested race, the 40th Congress chose to elect someone who has consistently displayed leadership qualities but has never been given the chance to show them.

And now he can.

Introducing Candor, the 40th Speaker of the House!

Candor has plenty of experience running organizations. One of the founding members of the NoS Party and a huge contributer in nearly all government areas, Candor can provide the necessary force to guide Congress to productivity. He has assembled a Congressional Leadership of unequivocally hard working and dedicated individuals.

Assisting Candor as his Deputies are Fionia and Evan Feinman, both long time and well respected members of Congress hailing from the United States Workers Party. Fionia has recently returned from an extended leave of absence, but her proven work ethic is sure to help keep congress in line. Evan ran against Candor in this month's SoH election and has graciously agreed to be Candor's deputy. His experience and manner will provide and even keel for Congress to look to for guidance.

As this Congress's Whip, Pearcey33 is sure to fare well at. Pearcey has has proven he has what it takes to message all of Congress. His time served in the eUS MMing Department as well as Secretary of Members in the United Independents Party will be of great use to this Congress.

Choosing to keep Jasper Signa as the Congressional Librarian was a wise move by Candor, who recognizes the talent and drive Jasper can provide. Hailing from the Federalist Party, Jasper has consistently been a voice of reason within Congress.

Experience is something which is hard to come by, which is why Candor has opted to select Cromstar and ligtreb as his Congressional Advisors. It should go without saying that these two men have constantly proven to be some of the nation's most valuable players.

For the 40th Congress, a new position was created by Candor to assist in helping the others. Serving as the Sergeant-At-Arms will be Richard Nixon II, a man who has shown to be a quiet but steadfast worker and leader for America.

And finally, rounding out the Congressional Leadership Team for the 40th Session of Congress is lil' ol' me.

I may be dead, but that doesn't mean I can't write.

Current Issues
Some carry over from the 39th Congressional Session is a large Tax Revamp. Current Secretary of the Interior CRoy started the discussion (lik here) to try and introduce some stabilization into the wavering economy. The main focus is the Food VAT as, in the words of CRoy, "the Foodd market is basically being used as the new Monetary Market. There is mass speculation, and it drives up prices as people buy up a lot low, and try to sell higher." The current talk seems to be in favor of the raise from 1% to 5%, but concerns still persist. A recently proposed Food VAT bill looks to be passing with no problem at all.

Behind closed doors, Congress is also discussing matters of revising the way it looks at certain aspects of the Government and the country at large. Candor and the senators of the 40th Congress are already busy setting a precedent for breaking molds and revising long standing views on issues. We'll see what comes of this.

In 5 days the 40th Congress has already approved an MPP with China, Argentina, and Germany. The Argentinian and Chinese MPP's are of particular note here, as they were both necessary to imminent conflicts which have been arising.

That's this week's Word. Thank you for reading, and be sure to vote and shout to your friends. See you next time!

Wasted and waning,
