[WTP] Insurgency

Day 3,004, 18:49 Published in USA USA by Hale26

n. pl (insurgencies)

In the purest sense of the word I write of the need for rebellion to you, players of We The People and the greater eAmerica. It’s odd because revolution is a tried, tired topic for the community - and while I believe I may have the same motives as those past revolutionaries, we do disservice to linger on December’s argument. What I’m talking about isn’t an outright, quick and easy destructive revolution - it is the need for a genuine, real insurgency in our Community against the enemy that transcends political parties, military units and cliques.

That enemy? Complacency.

You don’t need to be told twice - it has been ingrained in us for literally years. Our nation is shrinking as the game does too. Some of us will blame “Government”, as if it cannot change or is completely broken. Alternatively, some blame “Game”, as if game mechanics had control over our person-to-person community - untrue, as our community resides ingame; it is not dependent on eRep. Some will then go onto blame the fact-raisers, the “Pessimists” and whiners for killing the community. Some just distract themselves from this fact, isolating themselves inside of their own communities.

In the face of all these varying opinions and options, you would think a community like ours would rise to the challenge. And in many ways it has - I will not paint a unjustly dark, depressing picture. But we forget that in the face of low activity, there is a reality:

A. It’s easy to “get ahead” in leadership and;

B. What is easy is almost never worth doing. As such, it isn’t done.

Complacency. It’s literally everywhere. I noticed this when, as SoCA, I explored how to recruit new people into the game. The question is not how do we get them, but how will they stay?

Media: No regular newspapers, non-Goverment newspapers.

Congress: Resides on a huddled forum not visited by the majority of the game, rather than in our Country’s media.

Parties: Half the parties, including our own, are complete shells of what they used to be.

Many MUs don’t have the media-culture they want.
Division: Our nation is divided - and despite all this talk of “rapproachment”, there is little to none. The worst part is rapproachment wouldn’t even fix all the issues.

All those things are not controlled by game mechanics or the composition of eAmerica; They are controlled by our eAmerican community. When you see how much more we can be, what’s the only explanation but Complacency? This returns us to our first point. The only thing that will break Complacency is a complete rejection of it. This will not come in the form of a simple rebellion - it requires a long waged, intelligent insurgency.

With that: I'm announcing my Candidacy for Party President of We The People. WTP, our party has been the political bannerman of complacency for some time now. I mean, there is article upon article that has bashed our party, and fairly so. This is not any one person’s problem- this is our community’s problem, a common one in the eUSA these days. Our populist principles of fairness and inclusion didn’t rally the group anymore. However, the common flaw of eRep parties is this - they take things like this personally and then focus on bettering themselves alone. The team I've got together didn't sign up better us alone - wewant to better the nation in the process.

eAmerica needs us, WTP. It needs an active We The People, to shake up the party front and inspire our colleagues. It needs an active We The People, to reclaim the place of Congress and Media in our community. It needs an active We The People, to ensure there is a steady supply of inclusion and fairness loving Populists in our national government, working in harmony with people of all parties in our community.

I’m not running for PP to better the party. I’m running for PP to better our nation. And I’m not alone - all of the players below have been conspiring with me for months/days/weeks for this run, and all of us have accepted certain realities to make it happen:

Vice Party President: Cubby
Communications: Nesterus
Retention: Disco
Recruitment: Bobby
Political: Rah Rah Rasputin
Tech: Mike Ontry
Congress Leader: Blande

What we want won’t be quick. It won’t be easy. We might just fail. But, doesn't matter. As of today, February 10th, we begin our fight against Complacency because this community is still worth fighting for.

I'll leave there for today. There’ll be more to come over the next few days, from me and the team.

Thank you
