USAF and Battle Boosters Update
DMJohnston
With Battle Boosters active and battles raging in the North, the United States Armed Forces took a page out of the “Book of Things We Did a Long Time Ago” and ran some good old fashioned Mass Attacks over the last couple of days.
Three days in a row at High Noon, the soldiers of the USAF took to the battlefield and like a pack of steroid-enhanced wolverines, tore through the frontlines of the enemy like tissue paper.
Wednesday’s attack found us opening the battle for Quebec. 25 soldiers were registered for the attack when noon rolled around, with a number of troops from other MU’s (including unna343 from the Black Sheep and Kortanul from EZC) that joined the Special Forces MU for the attack. Once the boosters were active, the damage began to fly. Many troops activated personal boosters to combine with the USAF supplied booster. The results were impressive, with USAF Personnel securing the top 5 in Divisions 3 and 4 and the top 4 in Division 2.
Shoutouts to our Battle Heroes for the round, unna343 in D4 and Valicious in D3 (I got it in D2, no big deal), and to the rest of USAF for outstanding cooperation during these Mass Attacks.
The USAF is truly an elite strike unit, ready to deploy whenever needed and put damage on target. If you are interested in joining the United States Armed Forces, join us on IRC at #usaf and join the in game MU, here
Keep up the fire,

Othere, Siruis MC: Interview
Talostastic
Being a reporter is fashionable work
The cab dropped me off at a very modest Ranch-style home. I double-checked my notepad, thinking “This couldn’t possibly be where the Military Commander of Sirius lives.” It was no mistake though, so I paid my fare and walked up to the door.
A man in a smart-looking pants suit opened the door as I went to knock. ‘Talostastic? Hi, I’m Othere, pleasure to have you over.’ He extended his hand to me, which I clasped, then invited me inside. We went to his spare bedroom, which had been fashioned into a very functional office. Computer, TV hooked up to it as a second monitor, and two chairs were set up in the room, facing each other. On the computer, I saw an IRC window, opened to a channel I definitely wasn’t meant to see. Othere quickly clicked the monitor off, but left the TV on, which displayed the Battlefield of every Sirius battle occurring in real time.
“Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to meet with me today, Othere.” He smiled, obviously distracted by the battles, and fidgeted as if he felt like typing something. Turning his attention back to me, he asked, ‘So, what can I do for the WHPR today?’ Straight to business, eager to get back to his duties.
“I’d like to open up by congratulating you on your recent reelection as MC of Sirius. I understand you’re busy, so I’ll try to keep this as painless as possible. What could have possibly possessed you to taking this position?” Othere considered me for a moment, then responded, ‘I’ve always had a desire to help our allies and improve the position of my country in international relations.’
“Is the work you do satisfying?” Breaking into a wide smile, he responded, ‘I've gotten the opportunity to work with folks from all over the New World. I've seen how much people care about this game, and how patriotic they are for their eCountry. It's absolutely inspiring.
‘Plus, being Military Commander has its perks’ he said, subconsciously adjusting the gold watch he wore, emblazoned with the logo of Sirius, ‘a bunch of secret alliance IRC channels, getting the scoop on all the international dirt, and the ability to help direct Alliance military policy. I would be lying if I said those weren’t things anyone should want.’
“On a daily basis, what’s the biggest hurdle you encounter?” He chuckled, quipping ‘My biggest challenge was figuring out how to work the IRC bot used to keep priorities up to date. I still fumble with it.’
I gave him a flat stare. He may not have known it, since he couldn't see my eyes, but it was definitely a thing I was doing. He clears his throat and continues, ‘Getting to know all the leaders of the various countries, keeping their in-game names and IRC nicks straight, affording them equal time and access has been a bit of a struggle. I deal not only with all the members of Sirius, but also ProSirius. It takes a lot of people to make an alliance run smoothly.’
“I understand the IRC/Ingame nick part, I’m constantly confused with Talio_Extremist on IRC. What has your biggest success been so far?” ‘It's too early to to be waving the flag of victory. I've been in this position for just under a month. There's been some ups and downs.’ He glanced over to the TV, wincing at one corner of the screen I can barely decipher. ‘I'm focused now on the future, and securing Congress for some member nations, resources for others. There's plenty of work to go around, and I'm proud to be part of the team doing it.’ I flipped open my notebook to find if I had any questions left, when he started again.
‘The Congress part of the equation is going to be a challenge. I live for challenges, and the fireworks will be visible from outer space.’ I sat there, digesting the information, then closed my notebook and stood.
“Thank you very much for your time, Othere. It has been a pleasure.” I extended my hand, which he shook, then leaned in and whispered something into my ear. ‘Off the record...’ and you will never know what that was, since it was off the record. As I walked out the door, a cab pulled up to the curb, cabbie leaning out the window to ask me if I’m the one he’s taking to the airport. When Othere had time to call a cab, the foresight required to have it scheduled for the moment I walked out the house, absolutely astonishing.
I’m Talostastic, and thanks for reading.

Whoa, what is with all this air traffic in the eUS? We been fighting hard in Canada lately and most of you have been doing great! Have you noticed that we have also taken the time to lend out citizens for a ATO effort in the UK? Thats right we sent some valued ATO voters over to the United Kingdom to help with a recent ATO effort. This was a great effort on behalf of the DHS and the eUSA as a whole. We also have been battling in and out of Europe to ensure that our alliance and friends stay strong when needed. Many took part in the wipe of Serbia last week and we came together for a strong joint strike against the Netherlands.
We have had the ability to do this because of our diverse military population. We would like to thank everyone for their help in both the effort in Canada and helping our allies maintain their control in Europe. As we continue moving forward please understand that their are important battles all across the eWorld. Battles in Europe effect our relationships and those are friends we may need to call on in a time of need. Stay strong and fight on!

"we came together for a strong joint strike against the Netherlands"
>Haz MPP with Netherlands.
You guys are good allys are you?
Interview had too much role-playing and no real meat. Others were meh.
Substandard WHPR, imo.
You are often too high to notice... so you will forgive me if I don't hold weight to your opinions.
Yeah... I know nothing about writing quality WHPR articles...
I felt like the author was trying to manipulate my feelings with his roleplay.
“Is the work you do satisfying?”
‘Plus, being Military Commander has its perks’ he said, subconsciously adjusting the gold watch he wore,
I appreciate the effort, but not a fan.
That is PRECISELY what I meant, YA!
maybe there just wasn't much meat to work with, and the reporter did well to do a bit of "first person role play" writing to get anything out of it.
what would you prefer, maybe a "fast four" Q&A stack?
Yes
um.. and is that the kind of "writing quality WHPR articles" you're so famous for?
I have no bias towards any particular person in this game(Only for my country when I'm on the battlefield), and I am not too familiar with WPHR(nor any other major newspaper for that matter). Please take my words as a new citizen's perspective:
I enjoy the author's creativeness and initiative, however, I would like to see it applied in a different manner. The author is obviously a good one, and I'd like to see what he or she can create.
It is clear that it didn't have much meat, and I respect the author for trying to make up for it(Because it started off quite engagingly really), but I don't feel like it was appropriate to represent WPHR with it, as someone like me may think that WPHR's stance is against Othere.
For all I know, that is your stance, and if so, I apologize, and will simply choose different newspapers to read. In the case that your organization isn't using a bias, then I am only suggesting to be more careful with your wording, as to not seem like a FOX or MSNBC network.
Other than that, Kudos to the writer, you should consider writing a narrative, I'd sub/vote/shout that indefinitely.
Kind regards,
Your Friend.
Also, I don't think it is generally a good idea to mix narrative into a Q&A, only because you have to take so much time to be careful to avoid bias, which is a bit contrary to the point of a narrative(That is, to have a story, to have a perspective)
I think it would have been perfect if the narrative was let before/after the Q&A, not intertwined.
This way, people who come only for the information can get it without hesitation and frustration, and those who enjoy a good reading experience can still have it.
Two birds, one stone.
I will vote and sub this article/newspaper, because I appreciated it, and am in much anticipation to read the next one.
Get your head out of Uranus, Custer... YOU are the one who has seen more of my WHPR articles than anyone.
Read the opinion of the new player because he says the same thing I would say.
Keep calm and lemming on, Custer. You are the same thing you left the game because of two years ago nowadays.
It was actually way less RP, more like backwards-engineering a conversation based on prepared questions. But meh, potato potatoe.
Banana!!
Voted, I like the shorter articles.
NEEDS MORE GREELING!
INSURGIO~
v
voted, but in '...and we came together for a strong joint strike against the Netherlands. ...' you probably meant for the Netherlands or against Norway.
Voted!
like the new format-- less is more!
