[UKRP] PP Election May 2017 - To be Roman - or Not to be Roman...

I spent much of last week on business in Berlin and had little time to do much within Erepublik. In the little time that I had I watched the unfolding of a story which included the return of a number of names from eUK's past - and the announcement of a pseudo-Roman Senate state. Thie latter left me a little cold; there is much to be said for a bit of role playing, but this Roman thing left me a little underimpressed! It also played right into the hands of Ajay the Puppetmaster and his Loony Tunes....

There is nothing better to galvanize support within Erepublik than having a clearly visible cause/threat against which to rally - and the Roman Senate (formed by dear old Apples with returned from the dead friend DishCMDS did exactly that. With commendable rapidity Ajay manufactured and a proto-Boudicca and a very visible 'Ancient Briton' resistance movement to act against the perceived Romano-Fascist State announced by Apples and Dish.



There was little or no consultation or debate about the formanation of the new Senate - the first that I knew was that I was named as a Praetor in Apple's Declarion of The Republic

As someone who believes passionately in democratic government, this move was one that made me uncomfortable. To make things worse, it has damaged my work reforming certain eUK citizens, principally Prince Harry, who, following a reasonably good term as Country President and UKRP member has returned to the Dark Side under the allure of the Master of Multis, the plastic-psudoBrit Ajay (and his multiple personae).



So, dear UKRPers - if you object to this state of affairs, please join me in returning a little sanity into our eNation - so we can quickly quell this Romans vs Ancient Britons civil war - and return to a more inclusive, friendly, comercially viable and militarily intelligent configuration!



Your choices in this months Party Presidential elections are as follows:



certacito Old as the hills and about as reliable as a finely tuned Swiss chronometer, a candidate who stands for office because he cares deeply for the Party and for the eUK.

DishMCDS An energetic and elequent leader recently awakened after a prolonged hibernation - known for his imagagination and ability to motivate others be one.... He is the architect of the Comedy Senate and the rise of the Ajay-led Revolt of the Britons..... If you are happy about this, then vote for DishMCDS....

Prodigle I do not know this player - been around for some time but his Awards Tally (1 x Super Soldier and 3 x True Patriot does not imply super-activity and so is not a PP candidate that I would reccommend - until he proves his capabilities and credentials.


Addaway. An ergergetic and long term UKRPer - who has recently returned to the fold after a couple of months mucking around in start-up Political Parties lacking in policies and members. I like him a lot - but would not really want him to lead the UKRP this term.


GLaDoS. On first inspection this would appear to be the return of another historical character and friend of DishMCDS. A little closer inspection reveals the the GLaDOS that we all knew is firmly dead - and the new GLaDos-with-a-fullstop is a completely different character, previously known as Takt Whatever or whoever he is, this persona only recently moved to eUK and joined the UKRP for the forst time. I would suggest that electing hism (or her?) as UKRP PP might present an unacceptable element of risk?
