[ukGov]PMQ's Day 1576, and the Horices!

Day 1,577, 08:33 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by National Newspaper Association

Hello there!

We had another exciting round of Ask the Government yesterday, where Talon (and the rest of the team) took part in answering any questions the general public might have. As a reminder, we intend to have these every Wednesday, at 7 PM GMT in #mentoring. Anyone who has a question may attend, as it is an open chat to both citizens and forrigs alike.

Without further ado, I'm sure you're all chomping at the bit to see how Talon responded to this week's terrifyingly exciting questions.

Question 1, from a concerned citizen via PM: What makes you different than any other TUP CP, and what have you done in your first week to try and improve the UK?

Talon: Good question. Firstly, I've been active in leading, not just online, but I've made sure the promises I've made in my manifestos are being kept. Second, I think I've picked a great cabinet. They're active, intelligent, and they're all innovating. I couldn't ask for better from them. Third, I've been working hard behind the scenes to make things better, with an eye towards getting a congress. I'm not sure any of that makes me different to any other TUP CP tbh.

Question 2: Alright. We've got three questions that are quite similar, so I'm going to ask them at the same time (more or less. 1. How do you plan on securing Congress, 2. What good is a few hours or days of Congress really going to do?

Talon: Well, on the first one I can't really go into details, since it's quite sensitive and we don't want to give the game away, but what I will say is that I'm exploring all options and consulting the Government Advisors on all possible avenues. There's been some productive discussion and we'll be talking about it more during my GA meeting tonight. On the second, congress = money from the Country Accounts. That's the big use for them, and it's also checks and balances for me. It makes sure I do my job properly, or else, impeachment.

Dishmcds: I'd like to add just a bit, that even if we get conquered after we get a Congress, Congressmen keep their abilities without regions, so if we keep our regions long enough to get them, we'll have them all month regardless.

Question 3, which comes from Apronchef: Which is more valuable to you, the involvement of foreign players or the protection of eUKers in terms of assisting the state.

Talon: Neither is more valuable to me. My favourite part of this game has always been people. If someone wants to assist the state, that's great. I wouldn't turn anyone away just because they didn't have UK citizenship. Likewise, certain people are more valuable to me than others, but that has little to do with where they're from and all to do with their talents and work ethic and personality. I will say though, that it is important that we develop and encourage the next generation of UKers, and those people will generally come from our own population so while they may not be more valuable to me just because of that, it does have to be a consideration.

Now, you're probably all asking, were there really only three questions?

The answer is, no. There were lots of neat questions, including some more from Apronchef, some from Rodney McKay, Betafoxtrot, and a few others. We do, however, encourage you to join the debates whether you have questions or not. Thanks to everyone who joined in, listened, and asked questions. There were certainly some great ones!
