[TUP] General update on stuff

A lot has happened in the past few days, and a lot more is likely to happen in the next few. So I wanted to give the party an update on what’s going on.
Change of Government
For personal reasons, including ill health, the previous CP Alex.V Popovic chose to stand down, and asked Congress to impeach him. Congress obliged, Alex was impeached and the second place candidate from the previous election became the new CP.
The new CP is suezo31. I know suezo a little from my MU - the Royal Navy - and he’s a good man. He deserves our support through his term as CP, especially given some of the other stuff that going on…

Wars everywhere!
We are at war! With virtually everyone!
Pretty much as a direct result of us wiping eCanada we’re now at war with several other countries. Principally Brazil, Portugal and France have NE’d us, and are busy launching their attacks. On top of this, Canada are taking their regions back from us, relatively safe in the knowledge that we’re pre-occupied elsewhere.
The new CP and his cabinet have been dropped bang smack into the middle of this - perhaps the biggest conflict the eUK has been involved in for a long time - and are having to learn the ropes FAST! In particular, our party colleague Hollenboer has been appointed as MoD, which is a crucial role at the moment (congratulations hollenboer by the way!).
For these reasons, and in the eUK’s interests, they deserve our party’s full support.
So please keep your eyes open for orders from the MoD (there’ll be lots!) and fight smart - use your damage where and when it’s most needed.
Election fever
Today is the last day you can stand for Congress. Tomorrow I sort the list order, and Tuesday is the election.
Make sure you head over to the party page if you want to stand. Also (thanks to Paul Tyndale for mentioning this) - make sure you’re in a UK region that isn’t going to fall to any of our enemies over the next couple of days. If you’re in a region that we lose, you’re Congress candidacy will be auto-removed.
The next CP election is in 11 days. If you want to stand with the party’s support, please let me know ASAP. If more than one person comes forward, we’ll hold a primary election to decide who will be the party’s official candidate.
Don’t feed the trolls
An unfortunate side-effect of Alex standing down as CP is the fact that some of his previous advisors and cabinet ministers have gone into full-on troll mode. Now they’ve lost their influence they’re lashing out at pretty much anyone and everything, on Congress message threads, through articles, on IRC - everywhere you look really.
Chief among them are Ser Fartsalot, Wayne Kerr and, to a lesser extent, their sidekick iAdastros. Virtually everyone is in their firing line at some point, and that includes TUP (as I'm sure you'll see in the comments below - it usually takes them half an hour or so).
My advice is to read what they say, smile and don’t get involved. Trolls gotta troll, but there’s nothing to be gained from feeding them. We’ve all got more important things to do - specifically fighting in this war - to waste time on a bunch of kids throwing their teddies out of their pram.

If Serf and Wayne were just offering their considerable (and valuable) experience as advice on MoD stuff, there wouldn't be a problem.
It's all the other bulls**t that goes with it - constant harassment and bullying of people (especially on IRC), kicking and in some cases banning people from channels (all in the name of "banter" and "lulz"), some really unpleasant personal comments, and - of course - the ridiculous propaganda, misinformation, manipulation and downright lies.
They're acting like children, which is a shame because it's getting in the way of them helping us out of a situation which, essentially, they created.

That's not all
Whilst I was not a member of TUP until recent months, apparently so we are led to believe it's - TUPs fault that BigAnt stole the treasury, it's TUPs fault that no one has bothered with our Allies in recent months and it's TUPs fault we launched on a misguided and expensive war with Canada.

I'm still yet to get a reply from anyone on any of the perfectly legitimate points I've made, and neither has Wayne or SerFarts. You can't just label us as trolls and then provide no argument or evidence to back that up.

I haven't seen any trolling. All I've seen is people calling out the incompetence of the new administration, especially in military matters.
Criticism of a government, military campaign, party or any of the people involved in any of those things is not trolling. Fair enough.
However, speculative comments about people's sexuality, the age of the people they supposedly trawl the internet for, the relative attractiveness of any partners or children they may have, or indeed the intelligence and ability to use contraception of someone's parents - that counts, right?
All of this, plus more, has been particularly rife on IRC over the last week or so.
I couldn't care less what people do or say, in game or on IRC. But if you're going to troll, at least have the balls to recognise what you're doing. I troll some people on IRC (not with the level of personal comments I see others use, but still), and I don't sit here and pretend that I don't.
That's not trolling bro, that's just the internetz... it's a mean scary place and only big boys need apply.
