[TB4CP] Leaders for Tomorrow

Day 3,174, 19:02 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Out of all the articles traditionally laid out during a campaign for CP the Cabinet article has always been my least favorite. Not because I am not proud of the teams I have assembled in the past, but because finding up to date avatars, formatting, and resizing the avatars is for me at least an arduous process. I frequently spend more time doing that than I do writing the actual article and inevitably the quality of the writing suffers. This time around I will be eschewing the Avatars and will simply focus on the actual content of this article.

Cabinets and who is selected to be in them are of course very important. I often look forward to seeing who will be doing what when others run. Often complaints are made that very little was changed. The CP changes every month or two but the people running the Departments vary only a little is a common thing to be heard during the CP election cycle. It’s true to a point, and it has only worsened as our community dwindles. I have attempted to swap in as many fresh faces as possible and rotate those who have been in the Executive so they can showcase their skills in different ways.

Vice President

Wild Owl

Wild Owl is one of my oldest and best friends in this game. He and I began working together more than three years ago when we were first time Party Presidents also cutting our teeth at the Executive level. We have accomplished a lot in our careers in the intervening years. I’m pleased to have him with me for this run at the White House.

Chief of Staff

Tom Cauchon

I first got to know Tom Cauchon when he was the Secretary of Media for Trekker’s terms more than a year ago. I volunteered to work as a Deputy in the Media department during that time. I was immediately impressed with how organised, hardworking, and just plain reliable he is.These are qualities that will serve him well in directing the daily business of the Cabinet. This is a crucial role in ensuring a successful term. I know Tom will excel here.

Co-MoFA

Resoula and Orikfricai

Both of these guys are Wild Owl proteges. They have been working under him this last month in the State Department. For this upcoming term they will be working together in the big seat. This should be a key month in Foreign Affairs as Pacifica continues to work through growing pains, and as we come to a solution on our relationship with Russia.

NSC Co-Chair

Illiguy and Dinnyin

Illiguy is a player who has done very good work in our domestic departments. He’s done well in every job he has taken on. I am pleased to have him as an NSC Co-Chair. It is my hope that one day soon we will seen him campaigning for CP. Dinnyin is an experienced steady hand thas done a bit of everything in this game. I think he will make a good pairing with Illiguy.

Secretary of Defense

Melissa Rose

Melissa is an accomplished player. She was a big part of the ATO efforts that broke Ajay. She is also one of the best administrators in this game. I have seen her work wonders in the Feds time and again with her skills and willingness to crack the whip as needed. It is my hope that Melissa’s meticulous attention to detail will be an asset to USAF and its community.

Department of Citizen Affairs

WookyJack and Joey3790

This is the controversial pick. WookyJack is well known for many different reasons to many different people. I have known Wooky for a long time and one thing I know about him is that he brings energy, enthusiasm to every job he’s done. He has a tough act to follow here, but I have every confidence he will do it well. I was awaiting confirmation from Joey before adding him to this. Joey was a SecMed a few months back for Melissa. It was his first Secretary level job and he was very good in that demanding role. I'm happy to see him back active and once again ready to continue carving out a reputation for quality and effort.

Secretary of Media

Ilene Dover

Ilene has been spectacular in DoCA the last three months. She has retooled the domestic programs, initiated some very entertaining games, and mentored those working under her. All while learning the ropes of the national scene here in the eUSA. It is tempting to leave her in a role she has flourished in, but I strongly believe she deserves a chance to showcase her skills in other areas. She will be taking over for Custer in media.

Press Secretary

Aramec

Aramec has found his niche. He will be returning as Press Secretary to continue regaling us with his literary skills.

EPA

Gnilraps

With the introduction of pollution in the game Gnilraps suggested we do what we here in the eUSA always do: Figure out the game mechanics and find a way to make it work for us as best we can. He will be assembling a team of individuals to minimise the impact pollution has on our productivity and our pocketbooks.

The goal in building this cabinet was to position more players for their own runs. If you are interested in getting involved at the Executive level please contact me. A place will be found for you. If you work hard it will be noticed and appreciated. Beyond that anyone who has ever worked in one of my Cabinets could tell you that I go to bat for them. I relentlessly tout people who have worked hard for me. I use what clout I have to help them continue to grow even after my time in the big seat has come to an end. I grew up in a Federalist Party that was and is very much about meritocracy. That is very much a part of who I am in this game.

Some have asked me if I would be willing to step aside and let Resoula have this election if he proves himself to me. He has already proven himself to me. This is not about blocking him or trying to get him more seasoning before he goes for CP. It is about better positioning the eUSA for leadership going forward. Let me ask you a question. If Resoula wins this election and does great as I expect he will in the role of CP, then what? Who is next? Who will be his natural successor? The eUSA differs from other nations as we like to see new players succeed. Resoula has assembled an all star team of excellent players who have very much been there done that. Again I ask what next? What up and coming player will be in a strong position to seek after CP for themselves?

I believe that question will be much easier to answer with multiple players after my term(s) this go around come to an end. That is why I am running this time around. I have won (and lost) a lot of elections in this game. I have accomplished far more than I ever imagined possible when I was lured back by an email about a gold mine in the spring of 2013. This is not about heaping additional honors on myself or more medals on my profile. This is about giving others a hand up. I have assembled a mix of promising players with older players that still have something to prove. This is a mix that worked spectacularly well last summer. I am confident it will work just as well or better this time around. Until next time I thank you for reading.
