[PotUS] Going In For Round Two

Day 2,208, 12:42 Published in USA USA by Azazel Romanov

I will try to keep this short. I am about to start on my second term, and given the fact that it’s a holiday month, we didn’t lose many voters this time around. I hope that our activity base’s decline continues to slow and possibly revert a little bit in the coming months. I thank the people that voted for me, even though this wasn’t a very competitive election. I won’t let you down in my second term and I intend to continue building upon the work started in my first. So what do we have on the agenda this month?

Stability to Progress

Last month was all about groundwork and calming our national scene. While I don’t want to shake things up too much for us, this month will be about securing our country and improving upon our domestic well-being. Abroad, we will possibly see some new partnerships, agreements, and a little fun while we continue to safeguard our borders and improve relations with our allies and the countries around us. We can afford a little more risk but still play it cool and smart abroad. I have no intention to dramatically shake up our position in the world and compromise our current stability. Domestically, Human Services and Education both begin coming back off the tarmac to give us new events, institutions, and drive. eNASA, which started a bit off-key, proved to be quite successful in participation, and we held the first MoE Convention which we hope will become a continuing fixture in the game. I look forward to further progress in these departments. We’ll also see our Homeland Security Department safeguard our Top 5. Media will be reduced a little bit to accommodate for the holiday season, but expect to still see the WHPR weekly.

We also have a few cabinet changes, but nothing too serious. Due to a busier schedule, Gnilraps had to step down as NSC Chairman, and has been replaced with former Chairman HeapSeppo, who desires to be known as The Hand of the King this term (we’ll have to wait for Empire status I think). He will also be joined by new deputy Crashthompson, the head of the S.H.I.E.L.D. MU. The Wild Card will also be stepping in as the new Secretary of Media after serving as vMoFA last term, and I hope to see good results from him. Taking his place as vMoFA in the State Department will be Melissa Rose, serving alongside continuing MoFA Aramec and vMoFA Mazzy Cat. I hope to see continued work from the rest of my cabinet, and a little new life with the ones stepping into new or former roles.

What do I mean about progress? To some, progress is about expanding the country. To others, it’s about conquest and glory. To a few, it’s simply about doing better than the last month. For me, progress is a little more abstract than numbers and points on the board. Progress is about gaining a new perspective and tuning it to your current situation. Last month, my goal was to prove to the world and my constituency that I could keep on an even keel while the world shook around us. We saw war, conflict, arguments, and drama, but the US was able to stay above it. We still helped our allies and improved our situation, but we refused to push ourselves into the middle of it and make more problems for us and our companions. I also maintained consistent communication, attention to my goals in the domestic, and responded to any question or critique. I didn't consider myself above any concern or complaint.

This month, we build upon that groundwork. Now that we’ve shown the world we can be responsible, let’s prove that we can be productive with our situation. We can expand without causing conflict. We can improve internally without insult or unneeded argument. We can increase our international standing without creating enemies at all borders. We can create new partnerships and agreements without alienating the countries at our borders. We can secure new friendships while maintaining most or all of our current ties. Most importantly, we can be proud without being arrogant. The USA is a power in the world, but by no means the power that decides the world. We have to learn to be a team player rather than attempting faux leadership. I hope we can learn to keep pride while also keeping respect. That is progress.

If there is something you want to see this term, let me know. I’m open to new ideas and proposals. I look forward to another month of serving this country, and I intend to do my best to see us prosper and achieve new goals. We have a lot of room for improvement, let’s make sure to use our time well.
