[POTUS] CoT and ATO

Day 1,884, 07:18 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

Two huge updates right now. I'm sorry to jam them into the same article as they each deserve individual attention, but hopefully piggybacking will get both of these things more exposure.

First up- we are officially a trial member of Circle of Trust.

Update: Israel has an excellent article about this.
New Azazel also wrote a great piece about the mindset this demands.

I will keep this as brief as possible. I have a longer, bloggier article I am working on about this. The complications that come with being in this alliance are very interesting, but I think the benefits will far outweigh the negatives. It's interesting because the complications could easily become opportunities if we choose to view it that way.

I do want to make special note of eMexico. They were hesitant about having the eUS in this alliance because of our long history of extreme arrogance and bullying around the world and even within our own borders. They're not wrong. I think most people would agree. eMexico has been going through a transition recently that a lot of other nations are going through- they are passing the baton to the next generation. The eMexico we were warring against when I was eBorn is not the eMexico of today. But has the eUS changed?

We have fought tooth and nail to try and prevent moving into the future, as a nation. It's not easy for older players to surrender control. It's not easy for older players and former national and military leaders to see the next generation choose to take the country in a different direction. But this is evolution. This has to happen or there is really no point to playing this.

Transition takes time.
It's going to be a while before we are settled into the idea that younger people are taking over this game. And this transition can be easily undone in just a few elections. I don't just mean putting 'Flufferists' into office, but really anyone who thinks our best days are behind us and they would rather try to recreate the past than shape the future.

I appreciate eMexico vocalizing their concerns about us. I know that probably sounds weird, but the conversations I've had with their CP, as well as with our Cabinet and even random players have been among the most interesting and productive I've experienced in a long time. I didn't have to convince eMexico that we have changed and we are ready to move forward and consider new allies and a new direction. That's not a promise I could ever make as I honestly don't know if eAmerica is ready for this. But the fact that I was elected convinced them enough that we are starting to move in the right direction. Despite what certain people may think, I am not of the old guard. I'm a noob-focused player. That's what you got when you voted for me.

I am excited about what could come of this alliance and our participation in it. Over the next month or so, we will be feeling each other out and seeing how we work together. I know many worry, as I did, that CoT and TWO are a little too close for comfort. Our position regarding TWO was made absolutely clear and CoT accepted us as a trial member anyway (unanimously...100% vote). To me, that is an indicator of how CoT sees themselves, and that's important to remember.

Here's to shaping the future!

DHS/ATO

A massive congratulations are in order to our DHS staff and all of the Party Leaders, MU commanders and volunteers who helped with the ATO effort yesterday! We met nearly every objective and learned some very important things about our preparedness and that of our enemy.

The main objective yesterday was to restore the party we lost last month and recover as many smaller parties as possible to cut down on the shenanigans we see in every Presidential election. Obviously we also wanted to properly defend our legit parties, which were very much under attack. All in all, we were very successful! The DHS staff is running a million different metrics so we can properly measure our success and see where we still need to improve.

Some of the problems we have had in the past were wasted votes and an overall lack of communication and organization. Parties did an excellent job of letting their placeholders know to drop off the ballot. There was maybe only one person who stayed on who should've dropped off. Certainly better than the hundreds and hundreds of wasted votes we saw last month due to people not dropping. Also, it was absolutely clear to every citizen WHERE to go to get voting orders. And finally, because of a combination of offense and defensive strategies on our part, the AFA couldn't help but show their hand pretty early in the day. This made things much easier for everyone.

All in all, considering this department has been operational for a total of 10 days, EXCELLENT JOB. They are already working on the next round of elections and even thinking forward to next month. As I mentioned, we are now trial members of CoT. The day we were accepted, they immediately started talking with us about ATO strategy and how they can help.

We need to stay focused and we need to stay organized and with a killer team like the one we currently have, this threat won't be able to last much longer. I'm extremely proud of the DHS team and...allow me to be super corny for a second... it seriously warms my heart to see the nation come together and get organized to fight this PTO aggressively. The way the parties put in serious effort, not just to save their own skin but to do major damage to the AFA, is inspiring. This battle isn't lost...we're just getting started.

I feel like tides are turning in the eUS.

Thanks for reading,

ALSO- I promised war. Our objective will be announced tomorrow (day 1885).
