[MoHA] Where and how should I work?

Day 2,884, 17:43 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Ministerie van Media en Recrui

Dear player,

The Ministry of Home Affairs wants to help all citizens, and especially the young, to maximize the income of their daily working. We want to explain how making two relatively small investments will earn you a significantly higher daily income.

Every older eRepublik player does these two tricks. They are not the only tricks you can pull to earn money, but they are the easiest and most efficient tricks to having a significantly higher income.

If you don’t want to read the (quite understandable) explanations of what to do, skip to the bottom of this article where you find the 7-steps-in-5-minutes-plan.

To maximize your daily income, you should work for as much money as possible, and secondly, you should work twice per day instead of once.

1. How to work for the highest possible wage?
In eRepublik, there is no such thing as a “working skill” (at least not in the game mechanics as they are today). Whether you’re level 1 or 99, one “work” counts as one “work” for your employer and he will give you a certain amount of cc (citizenship currency) for it. To make sure you get the highest possible wage there is, check this tool (save the URL of that site so you can later visit it again). You see a list of employers and the cc that they are offering to work for them.

To work for an employer, you move to his country and apply at his job through the Job Market (you may have to first resign your current job, but only if it pays less of course). As a courtesy to our country, please check if it’s not an enemy country you are going to work for (we can’t stop you from doing that of course). If you work for an enemy country, the work tax will go into their treasure.

If you don’t know who our allies and enemies are, take a look at our Mutual Protection Pacts (referred to as an MPP) so you know at least who our allies are. You can see those via eRepublik > Community > My Country > Military. There is a list of countries there who are our friends.

Our allies at the time of writing. Australia is not in the list, because we were signing a renewed MPP with them back then. They are an ally too.

Okay, so you found a job in a country that is an ally of the Netherlands. To move to that country, simply go to your profile page (click your picture, it will say “View profile”), then click “(change)” at your current location, select the new location and a region in that location. It will show you the predicted cost of moving to that region. Play around with it a bit to see you can get it as low as possible (20 NLG is best). After moving, you can apply at your new job and you will be let in.

Note: if you move, you do not lose your Dutch citizenship. Your citizenship will still say “Netherlands”. And remember: wages go up and down, so keep checking regularly if your wage is the highest you can get. Don’t change jobs if your wage is the highest and don’t move if you don’t think the cost of moving would be worth it (for example when the new wage is only 0.50 cc higher.)

2. How to work twice every day, instead of just once
To work twice every day, you will need to buy a Q1 house.
A house does two things: it (1) gives you more health and it (2) gives you one overtime point every hour. With 24 overtime points, you can work overtime, meaning you work a second time at your job, giving you the same wage again for only 10 health. This means that you can work twice every day instead of once, giving you more wage that will eventually even out and exceed the cost of buying that house.

Houses should be bought and then activated in your Storage. They will give you 168 overtime points (7 overtime tickets) over the course of 7 days (7x24=16😎. Houses can be bought on the Marketplace. So how do you find the cheapest one? You go back to the tool site, and now you go to Tools > Marketplace and you check Item: Q1 Houses and Country: Global. You will see this:

We want to buy in a friendly country, in this case the USA, with which the Netherlands have an MPP, but again: we can not stop you if you buy in another country. A player called “FIEROGTFANATIC” was offering 132 houses at the time of writing, so in this example, we would want to move to the USA and buy one or more of FIEROGTFANATIC’s houses.

It’s important to make a small calculation here: if we buy this house, will it give us more money in the end? FIEROGTFANATIC’s house costs 370 cc (NLG in your case) for 7 days. 270/7=52.86 NLG per day. If our netto salary is higher than 52.86 per day, then go buy that/those house(s)! After buying it, we can activate it in your Storage.

Note: activating 2 or more houses will not deactivate the earlier one or give you overtime points more quickly. With every house, 168 hours will be added to the activation time.

From this article, we have learned how to (1) check for the highest wages worldwide and (2) work twice instead of once. To conclude, let’s make a small calculation about what the strategy in this article would earn us if we are currently working in the Netherlands for, let’s say, 40 cc per day (we won’t take work tax into account to keep the equation simple). This adds up to 280 NLG per week.

* The highest allied wage is in Australia (not in the picture, lower in the list): 77.60 cc. You move there and apply for the job.
* The cheapest allied house to be bought is in the USA (our friend FIEROGTFANATIC): 370.08 cc. You move to the USA and buy the house. It will last for 7 days, so it virtually costs you 52.87 cc per day.
* Your travelling costs may fluctuate when territories are taken, but let’s say that you spent 140 cc on moving from NL to Australia and from Australia to USA.
* You activate your house and work for your Australian employer twice per day, earning you 155.20 cc every day. Your house costs 52.87 cc per day, so you are making 102.33 cc every day.

In the Netherlands, you were earning 280 NLG in one week.
After taking 5-10 minutes to invest in a better job and a Q1 house, you now earn 716.31 NLG in one week.

Congratulations, you just got a raise of 155.83%!

7 steps in 5 minutes to maximize your income
Follow these steps to maximize your income:
1. Find the highest paying job here.
2. Find a match in employer and allied country in the MPP list.
3. Move to your new employer’s country and apply for the job.

5. Find a match in seller and allied country.
6. Move to the seller’s country and buy the Q1 house. Activate it in your Storage.
7. Work twice every day in your high paying job.

We hope you found this article worth your time. We are sure that if you follow the steps explained above, you will have a much better income and much more fun in the game!
