Dear citizens of eNL,
Well, you finally know what all buttons do, and some other basic stuff. But what now? What to do with your hard earned money and gold? And what to do if you get bored?
Don’t worry, this article will give some tips and advices to ensure a good start.

1. What to do with your Money and Gold?

You did some working, training and fighting and earned a nice amount of Gold and Money. Now there can be some very tempting things to do:
* You are kicking some real ass on the battlefield and helping our country a great deal. But suddenly you are out of energy! Luckily you can buy extra energy for some gold! DON’T! With a health kit of 0,5 gold you can only do one hit more, so pure waste of gold…
* There is this tempting advertisement on top of the screen which offers damage boosters with 50% discount! As a true Dutchman, you can’t let this bargain go... DON’T! With the same gold you buy such a booster, you can buy many Q7 weapons, which you can do way more damage over a longer timespan.
* There is another tempting advertisement which offers company upgrades with discount! You can finally produce your own Q2 or higher weapons and food! DON’T! A upgraded company requires more raw materials, so more raw material factories. So will spend much more gold and money than you had planned. And fighting with lower Q weapons has another disadvantage which will be explained later in this article...

The only good investment is:

* Upgrading your training grounds. With more strength you will do more damage on the battlefield. And with every 250 strength you gain, you will get a super soldier medal → 5 gold! So try to upgrade your first 2 training grounds to level 4 and enjoy your profit! Warning! To gain maximal profit, train only in your first training grounds and try to upgrade it to lv. 4. Then upgrade you second one to lv. 4 to, but don’t train in it until it is lv. 2!

2. Experience and Strength (X/S), what about it?

You leveled up, Yeah! But is leveling up what you want? Lets start with this: The eRepublik fighting system consists of 4 divisions.
-Division 1 (Lv. 1-34)
-Division 2 (Lv. 35-49)
-Division 3 (Lv. 50-69)
-Division 4 (Lv. 70+)
As long as you are under lv. 34 you fight in division 1. But the higher level you are, the more strength you have, the more damage you deal. So someone who is lv. 33 is more likely to gain a Battle Hero medal than someone who is lv. 5, because the both fight in the same division.

So levelling up has some disadvantages. As soon as you are lv. 35 you have barely any change to win a battle hero anymore. And since the division system is dependent on your level and not your damage, you want to be as low level as possible with as much strength as possible. So fighting with low Q weapons have some big disadvantages. You do less damage, but gain the same amount of XP (Experience points) as fighting with high Q weapons.

3. What to do when you get bored?

Some people get bored with the forever: ‘Work, Train, Fight, Repeat’. So here are some tips to keep the boredom away:
* Join a political party, or found one yourself! Politics are one of the most extensive things in eRepublik. Enjoy the competition in the Congress elections and become the biggest party eNetherlands ever knew!
* Sign up for a governmental function! There is so much more to do when you are a Minister, State Secretary, Advisor or Ambassador. And there are so much departments you can join: Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Defense and Coaching/Recruitment.
* Start a newspaper! Enlighten eNetherlands with your opinions, or bring a smile to our faces with your jokes, riddles or stories.
* And of course: Join the forum! There is a world almost as big as eRepublik itself on our forum.

I hope you learned something today. And if you have any questions, suggestions or complaints, please ask/tell us!
