[MoFA] The Cunning Adversary

Day 1,533, 08:09 Published in Switzerland United Kingdom by bowen199

In the Art of War there are many tactics that can be used to gain favourable advantages. The mightiest of armies can fall to a smaller, but more cunning army. However, like a game of chess, even with an advantage you can still lose. A harsh reality United Macedonia had to come to terms with.

Slovenia also came close to underestimating their adversaries. While the average player calculates victories based on total strength, the Swiss government has shown its military strategic capabilities by exploiting “Weaknesses and Strengths” (Chapter VI, The Art of War). As a result, both Switzerland and Slovenia have something to gain form signing The Geneva Treaty.

Switzerland benefits from regaining 2 original territories as well as gold for those occupied by Slovenia. While this deal may not be groundbreaking in terms of deals, it is on the other hand an extraordinary morale boost to be treated fairly and with respect from Slovenia. This deal has shown some of the more naive strategists that we do not have to accept unreasonable demands.

Slovenia benefits as Switzerland gets regions that provide no bonuses to Slovenia and guarantee no direct wars. After all, Serbia would most likely have a congress if Slovenia were not defending un-needed bonuses. By guaranteeing no wars at home Slovenia can provide support to their allies in need until ONE regains momentum.

The Swiss government has been accused of breaking previous deals with Slovenia, nonetheless we enter this deal knowing its part of the game. We are ready and prepared for the good or bad because we too are a cunning adversary.
