[MoE] Usage of eRepublik Mobile
Ministerie van Media en Recrui
Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
On November 26 the following information was posted on the eRepublik forum:
Dear Citizens,
As some of you may now, a while ago we announced mobile app Closed Alpha program.
Since then, we have been continuously working on the app and we are proud to announce that, starting the 20th of November, its development will enter the Open Beta Stage.
If you are curious to see what it’s all about, you can download it here:

I've been using eRepublik mobile for a couple weeks and I would like to inform you all how you can use the app to your advantage. Besides that I think it's useful that we have some insight in the way a new wave of players will experience the game. I personally use an android device so the things I say might be slightly different for iOS.
On android you just click the link > click on install > log in to your google account > select the mobile device you wish to install eRepublik Mobile.
After that it gets a little bit tricky because the first time you connect it is very easy to create a new (multi) account by accident. Be sure that you login with your existing account. Once you have done this you end op on the homepage which looks a bit like this:
A birds eye city view in which most of the blocks are a link to a specific page. Between it all you can see our friendly neighbourhood Nimh drifting around. If I make a very basic analysis the following can be said about the homepage:
Very visible:
-MU chat
-Next rewards in the weekly challenge.
-Buffs (training contract, house etc.)
-Currencies
-Energy
-Buttons for Map-Missions*-Mail*-Wars-More
(*with notifications)
Not visible:
-Articles
-Country/friends/MU/party feeds
-DO
-Important campaigns
I won't go into detail about every different looking page in the app but I would like to give some attention to the war module. In the app the campaign page looks like this:
a battle looks like this:
and fighting using the deploy function looks like this:
Fighting using the deploy function could be called auto-fighting. You select how much energy you wish to use, select a weapon, click deploy and you will automatically start hitting until the energy is used.
Okay so how can you use eRepublik mobile to your advantage.
Deploying is quite ideal when you are busy and don't have time to tab a button a hundred times. Besides that it's also a lot more subtle when you are in an environment where you are not really supposed to play games. Work, school or when you are having an obligatory coffee with your mother in law for example.
Both an upside and downside of an app is that it can send you notifications. This way you don't have to keep a constant eye on the game. You get for example a notification when your health is fully recovered. Besides that I imagine eRepublik mobile works better than the webpage op phones with a small screen.
Keep in mind that eRepublik Mobile is still in beta, features may be altered, removed or added and bugs could occur!
That's all for now, have a nice day folks!

Oh and the following message is brought to you by our beloved monkey:

Are the images bigger than intended? Yes. Am I going to change them ... erm probably not 😐
If you have any additional advantages/disadvantages or useful information about eRepublik mobile please let me know!
I knew they had an app, haven't tried it out yet. It looks quite attractive (visually).
Nice to release this 🙂
Bananas!!
Code word accepted, did you know that radiation can be measured in bananas?
That's two worthwhile pieces of info from MoE on one day, I like the trend!
Idk how well scientific sourced this video on the subject is but I always quite like it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRL7o2kPqw0
I still can't find my companies
I didn't know this existed up until now, cool!
Hmm... might give it a try, though it looks quite differently than I expected, so I would have to adjust a bit 😃 .
An article that is art

Bananas anyway!
Bananas!
A few things are indeed not visible on the home page, yet easy accessible via the Media and Feed buildings or the Missions or Wars buttons at the bottom.
Biggest issues I currently have with the mobile version:
- I don't seem to be able to see or work in my companies
- I can't see the countdown before the start of the new round so can't fight immediately after the start which is especially important with air rounds.
- The deploy function uses the last weapon shown in stock as default. Which is a bazooka in my case which is highly unwanted. It does not remember the last weapon selected potentially leaving you with lots of energy used yet hardly damage done due to accidental bazooka usage.
- It does seem impossible to see the amount of kills done in a battle. Damage is visible but switching to kills ain't an option
- You can't see damage in other divisions unless you can switch to those. So if you don't have maverick I suppose one can't even see what the status is there which may be an issue for a MoD or commander wanting to know what's going on.
On the plus side:
- It seems to be responding (way) faster than the webversion on several actions
- The autofight via deploy is very nice/useful.
- The use of bombs is way more smooth than it is in the web version where you need to click twice to throw one and that often isn't processed where the mobile version simply lets you swipe the bomb to the battlefield and never seems to malfunction.
Apart from the deploy function every now and then it's however highly unlikely I will use the current version often and even the deploy is doubtful for BH hunting due to the fact you can't see the starting moment. If they add that it could become a nice replacement/add-on. If they don't the app might be dropped as if it slipped over a couple of bananas.
The app seems nice as an option to quickly do some things when you cannot get to a computer. It doesn't have to be a 100% equivalent of the browser game, so I think it's great that the admins are focusing on getting a few things done much better than the default browser experience. This way they can augment each other. Missing out on articles such as this seems a shame though. Can the MU chat be used to inform app players of important articles?
I guess I will test the app out myself in the next few days (Christmas...). Otherwise, I'd probably be a lot less active, and waste my energy. Hopefully with the app I will be able to quickly do some fighting.
Anyway, awesome article, as before I probably wouldn't even have considered using the app. Articles that influence people to try something else are the best. 😃
