To do things a little differently this article will give you a practical insight info the Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense
The Ministry of Defense is represented by the Minister of Defense. He often has a state secretary to support him in his daily activities. The current ministry of defense consists of a Minister, a state secretary and an advisor. These players will run the ministry publishing articles, sharing state orders of war and assisting Military Commanders of National and private NL MUs. Please continue reading to find out what the daily activities of a player who is part of the Ministry of Defense are.




Daily Orders
The Ministry of Defense is responsible for the distribution of the daily orders. The daily orders are shared with all NL MU Commanders in a Commander chat created by the Minister of Defense at the beginning of a new term. Sometimes the daily orders are also shared through the MoD Org newspaper. When this newspaper is used for shared daily orders the MoD uses either eGov4You battle orders links or direct hyperlinks in the article itself. Once the orders are published it is preferred that they are updated until the article disappears from the top 5 articles in the news.

eGov4You is a website that is linked to eRepublik. An admin has the power to give new MoDs access to the site up to the level of a specific MU. This admin ONLY accepts this request if the acting CP or MoD asks him to do this.





How To Select a Daily Order
The MoD has to come up with their own Daily Orders. It requires deep knowledge of international relations and information from the Orion Alliance to set a Daily Order. Daily Orders reflect the loyalty of a country to it's allies. Knowing when to fight for an Orion member, for the Netherlands or for a country we owe our safety is very important. Setting the right DO requires the Minister and the state secretary to know the international relations, are aware of the developments in certain wars and actively approach MoFAs, CPs or MoDs from other countries in case of confusion.




Supplies!
The ministry of Defense is responsible for the distribution of state supplies when we are the Netherlands is at war. It may be that supplies are not distributed at all, this is the choice of the MoD and the Country President. Not all supplies are run by the Ministry of Defense. The National MU of the Netherlands the Dutch Armed Forces has a Weekly supply package for the Dutch soldiers active in the MU. This program is run by Shawtyl0w who will continue running the supply program when he is no longer MoD of the Netherlands.




Strategic and Tactical Coordination
During a war no matter of it's a training war or a real attempt to whipe a country of the map the Ministry of Defense is responsible for the execution of the war scenario. This means they will have to time when to start resistance wars, when to start a new campaign and in which rounds it is important to win the battle sometimes as specific to a single division. In times of war it is important to communicate the plans to allies and friends so that there is no confusion and our allies can provide help if needed. Lastly we should not forget combat orders. The funding of damage done by soldiers is often critical to winning an important war. A country supplying a Combat Order will almost always win a campaign from a country that doesn't.




Joint Strikes
Joint Strikes are a call for soldiers to fight in a specific battle at a specific time. Joint strikes are often organized together with other countries or other MUs. The more soldiers who partake the more successful the joined strike. They are often used to drive activity within the community and as opportunity to distribute supplies. In the recent past we haven't seen many Joint strikes organized in the Netherlands but what isn't now might be happening tomorrow!




Other Activities
Sometimes the Minister of Defense has to represent his country. This could mean he would attend an IRC meeting with an enemy or ally. As MoD you will be included in the Orion SC chat to inform and be informed by other MoDs, CPs, and Orion HQ. You might also be involved in discussions regarding peace treaties and rental deals.
