Day 2,580, 17:23 Published in Ireland Ireland by Patrick O'leary

Aaaand I'm back. I know you all missed me.

Shut up

I received 4 responses, and learned that some of my answers were wrong in the process. I guess the answer of 'who is the smartest person in eIreland' is not me.

Without further ado, here are the answers.
[u[Questions[/u]
1) What is the process where natural gas is extracted from shale called?
Fracking (everyone got this one right)
2) Why do historians think we decorate our homes with Pine trees at Christmas time?
The trees all started to lose their leaves around this time, so the people thought that by bringing an evergreen tree that didn't lose theirs they would promote health in the home. This was a hard one. I decided not to take any points away if you didn't put what I thought the answer was.
3) How many NFL (American Football) teams have never won the Stanley Cup?
All of them (32). The Stanley Cup is for Hockey

4) What do the initials BMW (the cars) stand for?
Something in German that I don't know how to spell. In English, Bavarian Motor Works
5) How far would you have to travel up in order to get into the next level of our atmosphere?
We are currently in the troposphere. The stratosphere is ~12 km above us.

6) Is the potato native to Ireland?
No, it's South American

7) What does RAM stand for?
Random Access Memory
8 ) Why do we call the entrance to a home a 'threshold'?
Apparently what I've been taught was wrong. Free points for everyone!
9) What does TARDIS stand for?
Time And Relative Dimensions In Space
10) What was Mark Twain's real name?
Samuel L. Clemens
11) What does it mean if a painting is described as a 'fresco'?
It's painted on plaster
12) What nationality was St. Patrick?
He was born in Roman Britain, and one Native Irishman pointed out he was specifically born in Wales.
13) What kind of instrument is a bodhran?
It's a drum
14) What kind of meat is in a 'traditional' Irish stew?
Mutton
15) What causes the four seasons?
The tilt of the earth

The participant have been given their winnings, plus a few bonus items from Fritzhill.

Stay tuned for the next competition, once I finish all of my finals. (Probably Tuesday night)

Have an excellent couple of days eIreland, and remember to stay classy!
