Beste burgers van eNederland,

Als alles goed gaat, is dit de laatste regeringsupdate van het kabinet-Garmr IV. Vanavond vindt het verkiezingsdebat plaats tussen de presidentskandidaten. Morgen en overmorgen kan er worden gestemd op het forum, waarna op 5 april de officiële ingame-stemming is. Als er binnen 2 dagen een nieuwe regering aantreedt, zal dit de laatste update zijn. Zo niet, dan moet ik weer aan de bak. Over bak gesproken; ik heb een bak ellende voor jullie.

Het is over en voorbij / Tussen jou en mij
De afgelopen weken hebben we een trainingsoorlog gevoerd met buurland België, tot tevredenheid van beide landen, mag ik wel zeggen. Daar is nu helaas een einde aan gekomen.

Dit verhaal begint met een Brits wetsvoorstel om België tot Natural Enemy te verklaren, wat bij acceptatie zal leiden tot een oorlog met België. In reactie hierop heeft België meerdere MPP’s gesloten om de Britse dreiging af te weren. Genoeg reden om de trainingsoorlog af te blazen.

Een direct gevolg voor ons land is dat we tijdelijk Zuid-Nederland-loos zijn. Om de oorlog tussen onze beide landen zo snel mogelijk te beëindigen en België de kans te geven zich goed voor te bereiden op de komende oorlog met het Verenigd Koninkrijk, hebben ons beider presidenten besloten dat België een overwinning moest boeken in de slag om Zuid-Nederland. Hierdoor grenzen beide landen niet meer aan elkaar en is de oorlog automatisch afgelopen. Zuid-Nederland zal zo snel mogelijk aan ons worden geretourneerd.

Referendum
Voor het geval dat het iemand is ontgaan: er loopt momenteel een referendum over afschaffing van de senaat. Zie voor een toelichting dit artikel van de parlementsvoorzitter. Je kunt hier stemmen.

Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken

De laatste week zijn er een Nederlandse ambassade in Noorwegen geopend en een Filippijnse ambassade in Nederland. De relaties met beide landen worden op prijs gesteld.

Ministerie van Oorlog

De afgelopen tijd is de voornaamste bezigheid het aansturen van de trainingsoorlog met België geweest. Nu die is afgelopen, wordt gekeken naar andere doelen en worden voorbereidingen getroffen voor de altijd onzekere toekomst.

De Marine loopt als een hoogwaardige katrol; de leden werken ook goed samen om de verschillende missies te kunnen halen.
Anders is dat bij de Luchtmacht. Vooral de hoge voedselprijzen gooien letterlijk roet in het eten en zorgen ervoor dat de soldaten niet optimaal bevoorraad kunnen worden.

Ministerie van Financiën

De minister verzoekt alle Congresleden die hun belasting nog niet hebben betaald, dat zo snel mogelijk te doen. Hier kun je de lijst vinden.

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
If all goes well, this will be the last update from the 4th Garmr cabinet. Tonight, the presidential candidates will face off in the election debate. Tomorrow and the day after, you can vote on the forum, followed by the in-game vote on the 5th of April. If a new government is presented within 2 days, this will be the last update. If not, I’ll have to write another load of words again. Talking about loads, I’ve got a load of misery for you.

It’s over between us
During the last couple of weeks, we’ve been involved in a training war with our Belgian neighbours – to mututal satisfaction, I might say. Unfortunately, this relationship has come to an end.

This story begins with a British law proposal to declare Belgium their Natural Enemy, which, if accepted, will lead to war with Belgium. In reaction, the Belgian government has agreed on several MPP’s to stave off the upcoming British invasion. This was a reason for us to end the training war.

A direct consequence for our country is that we’re temporarily Southern Netherlands-less. In order to end the war between both our countries and to give Belgium the opportunity to prepare itself for the war with the United Kingdom, our mutual presidents decided that Belgium would seize victory in the battle for the Southern Netherlands. This done, Belgium and the Netherlands don’t border each other anymore and the war has been automatically closed. The Southern Netherlands will be returned to us as soon as possible.

During the previous week, a Dutch embassy to Norway has been set up, as well as a Philippine embassy in the Netherlands. Relations with these countries are very much appreciated.

Ministry of War

Managing the training war with Belgium has, of course, been the main task of this departement for some time. That war having been concluded, other goals are being formulated and preparations are being made for an ever uncertain future.

The Marine is running like an Olympian athlete; its members are cooperating well to make sure everyone completes their missions.
The Luchtmacht is a different story. Especially the high food prices have been spoiling things, preventing the soldiers from being supplied adequately.
