Valk Dezra

As the new director of recruiting and retention, MrCarey has opened up some new avenues for feds to have some fun, and get some free stuff on the forums. This is in the form of his No Fed Left Behind Program (legacy from Sar97), and a Fed XCom Game, run by the man himself. I asked deputy Valk Dezra to sit down with MrCarey and talk about these things for your reading pleasure.

Valk Dezra: Hello MrCarey and thanks for taking some time to do this interview. To begin, how long have you been playing eRepublik and of that time, how much has been spent in the Federalist Party?

MrCarey: I've been "playing" for 6 years. Of that time though, I probably have actually only spent 3 years playing this game. My recent time I've been here for 14 months, taking only a 2 month break when things got crazy in RL. I've been in the Feds for the past 4 months I think.

Valk: Why did you choose the Federalist Party over the other options?

MrCarey: I was in WTP for a long time. When I came back to the game, the party changed from what I remembered it as. When I looked for a new home, SFP wasn't my style, nor was BSP. AMP was the "military" party so that didn't interest me much. USWP had pfeiffer in it, and I had a good amount of erep friends in Feds. It was a pretty easy decision.

Valk: So you're the retention director for the Federalist Party, how did you end up there and how long have you been in that position?

MrCarey: Well, last month I was doing media and Lunete was my deputy. I wanted Lunete to take the reigns and run the department, so I handed that off. I was offered Retention, so I took it. I was doing Retention a few months back too.

Valk: Do you find it to be a rewarding job within the party?

MrCarey: I do. It gives me a great opportunity to interact with other party members.

Valk: One of the things you're currently doing is running a game of XCom 2 on the Fed forums, can you share a bit about what you're doing with that?

MrCarey: Sure. I saw there was a thread going on in the eUSA forums and I thought it'd be a cool thing to bring to the Feds. Basically any member can fill out a little Q&A thing about their preferences for a character. I make that character in the game and do my best to keep them alive. That doesn't always work out though.

Valk: Another program you recently resurrected is No Fed Left Behind. How does this program work and what's required for someone to take advantage of it?

MrCarey: I was looking around and I didn't see any food/weapon program that was being run by the Feds. I found that SAR had "revived" NFLB, but abandoned it about as quick as he started it. There are some people who complain about the tax rate and how they can't afford supplies, so I figured this was a good opportunity to ease the noise. All that is required is to be a Fed member. You can request 10 Q5 tanks and/or 120 Q5 food each day.

Valk: What's your favorite part about eRepublik? Least favorite?

MrCarey: My favorite part about eRepublik is the community. My least favorite part is certain people from the community and the lack of ambition and care from the devs.

Valk: Anything you'd like to pass along to our readers?

MrCarey: Eh, not really. I do my thing. If people ask me for something or put me in a job position I see to it that it's fulfilled to the best of my ability.

Valk: Thank you again very much for taking the time to answer some questions!

MrCarey: Not a problem! Thanks for the opportunity

Thank you very much for reading.
