Born as Gaius Octavius Thurinus in 63 BC from a wealthy family, he became the first Emperor of the Roman Empire on the 16th of January 27BC till his death on 19th August AD 14, ruling 41 years as the supreme leader of an entire Empire.
During his reign he developed road networks with official courier service, he established a standing army and created the Praetorian Guard. Created official police and firefighting services and rebuild Rome.
Augustus dramatically enlarged the Empire, annexing Egypt, Dalmatia, Pannonia, Noricum, and Raetia, expanded possessions in Africa, expanded into Germania, and completed the conquest of Hispania.

For my history study I wrote an essay about Octavius, it was a interesting person. In the beginning of the principate he did a lot work to draw power closer to him. The house of cards of the Roman empire 😉
He was a very intelligent person, for someone who was pretty much ill during his reign.
