[DoEE] Interview with Rusty D, CP Candidate

Day 2,689, 15:46 Published in Australia Australia by Merovingiano

Hello fellow eAustralians,
With the election coming in just 3 days, I set out to interview each of the candidates for Country President (CP). I tried to create questions that couldn't be answered with vague or obvious answers. I really wanted to push for detailed answers about Australia's current political landscape and how the candidate views said landscape. I hope these interviews will shed some light on these candidates and allow for more informed voters.

Without further ado, our next interview is with Rusty D. Rusty D is running with the support of the Australian Communist Party and the Australian Democratic Party.

Why do you want to be CP?

"Currently when I look at the Australian political scene, I see one that is fractured and disjointed. People are confused, lacking leadership and all in all, it is in a shambles. Australia has suffered an AS and then a dictatorship. This has caused some people to throw their hands up in mental defeat (from the stress etc) and has caused some people to bicker amongst themselves, rather then focus on the main issues.

As an Australian citizen, I can not stand by and watch my country fall apart, I can not stand by and see this continue. It is my duty to try and be involved. I can either stand on the sidelines and bitch and complain, or I can try and do something about it. So I decided to run for the position, even if I know it will be a hard term and one with my hands tide due to the game mechanics."

What do you bring to the table as CP? What qualifies you for the job?

"Well the first part... to be completely honest, I cant bring anything to the table, due to the dictatorship. I can only be invited to the table by XenthuS and then to propose/negotiated what I would like to see. XenthuS is in charge, so it will be up to me to present ideas with winning arguments for the best of Australia.

The second part... What qualifies me, well I hope my track record does. Not only my previous role as CP, but my media articles, my willingness to stand up and speak out, my desire to help others, my initiatives, my ideas and the most important part, I am active. This term will be different then a normal CP term, due to the fact we are under dictatorship, but I am ready to go toe to toe with XenthuS to get the best for Australia."

As CP, what policy do you plan on focusing on the most?

"Well it is not really a policy, but more an attitude. It will be of compromise and negotiations. I want to push a few things through, but I know while XenthuS is in charge, I need to ensure I compromise if need be. I will not give up if he says 'No', I will not have a hissy fit and run away.

But one area which I plan on working hard in is Foreign Policy as this is an area he can not completely control. As the elected government we can still work towards building friendships with other countries, these might not include MPP's, but they will be a matter of national importance in helping Australia continue on it is path and direction."

What is your stance on our current dictator XenthuS and Varnish?

"They are here, we can fight, but it will be costly and we will most likely lose. Unlike other dictatorships happening around the eWorld, we are partially lucky. Yes we are unlucky we had a military coup, but we are lucky that our dictator is willing to listen and work together. We see in other countries this not being the case (eg. Cuba, Swiss, Hitman).

So I plan on trying to work with him as best as I can and also also use his MU to our advantage and to NEBULA's advantage. We are already putting the ePeru rent directly into NEBULA which is a big bonus."

What are your views on our relationship with ePeru?

"ePeru has for years been a good friend of Australia. Unfortunately due to recent miss-communication/miss-understanding/rogue elements, this relationship has been strained. I want to try and rebuild this.

When I was CP in Feb, I moved JackTrout into a MoFA role because of his understanding of Spanish. This was to try and prevent any miss-understandings. I will continue to work closely to putting behind us any issues and I will strive to work towards a better future. But I also will ensure we are looked upon as an equal and important friend to ePeru."

Feel free to refrain from this question, but who do you have in mind for your cabinet?

"Some old faces will be included, but all in all, it will be a mixture of up and comers who are active and some old hands who have the knowledge and experience to pass onto them. Some people who I wanted, have said 'no'  others have said 'yes'.

But all in all, it will be a different make up then a normal CP term due to the limitations put on me by the game mechanics under the dictator module.

But I will say JT will be my vCP. The rest will wait until I am elected..."

Are you in favor of a forum based Senate?

"There is no denying the current congress message thread is not working. However while there is pluses and minuses to forums, I also think the message threads can work.

Currently half the problem with the message thread system, is the number of people (it is limited), the activity levels (some don't even comment, but we can not tell if they are checking in), the squabbling (on non related matters) and just the general non-needed PM's cluttering it (like people logging in just to say hello).

However I will try and get something sorted out, but I will be keeping in mind the need to hand over access rights each month and so on."

It is undeniable that Australia is lacking when it comes to drawing in new players. How do you plan on bringing in new players to Australia?

"This is something I feel strongly about, but due to current issues happening, it will not be a priority. I will still devote time on it, but first we need to sort out our relationship with XenthuS and come to an agreement before we move to get people into our country."

Anything else you'd like to say?

"Well to the Australian's 'QUEENSLANDER!!! and to our international guests 'BAYERN MUNICH for life!! Mia San Mia'.
