[DoEE] Beginner's guide

Day 2,700, 16:00 Published in Australia Australia by Tobsta

Hello and welcome to the latest article this week of The Weekly Tobsta.

The Ultimate Newbies' Guide

Now, if you've found your way to this article, you've definitely made some progress. But, there are many things that the average newbie doesn't know. For example, did you know how all the different categories of experience and resources work?

Experience

Comes up next to your profile picture on the homepage and in your profile. It is measured in points and they compile into levels. Your division is based on your experience level. Levels 1-34 are D1, and will show up as normal people on the battlefield. D2 will show up as cars, D3 as trucks, D4 as full on tanks.

Prestige points

They come up in your weekly challenge section of the homepage. You earn 1 for every ten energy spent on the fight button. They are reset every week. Every 250 you earn you will receive a cool gift. Eventually, the gifts will come every 500 then 1000 PP.

Military rank points

They are what your military rank is based on. For a list of available ranks, click here. You will earn (damage / 10) rank points for every kill you make in battle.

Energy

Energy is displayed in the green bar under your name. It is used for activities such as working training and particularly fighting. It is recharged using food, but you can only recharge 10 energy every 6 minutes. (unless you have energy boosters, where you can recharge up to 100 per 6min) Once it has recharged, you should wait for it to be able to recharge fully again for maximum potential in battle.

Gold

The premium currency of the game. It is incredibly scarce, and is often only achieved upon buying it or leveling up an experience level. You should never use it to buy energy bars and all of that other junk. Save it up for something worthwhile, like upgrading a company and/or training ground. (I'll get to that later)

AUD (National currency) -

Every country will use it's national currency, in our case, the Aussie Dollar. The AUD can be used to buy products in the marketplace. It can be used for anything, pretty much.

Strength

It is achieved through training. The more you have, the higher the damage you'll do in battles will be. (meaning more rank points) It is an easy way of achieving gold, because the Super Soldier achievement is so easy to get, and rewards 5 gold.

Well, I hope that helped, but what about the marketplace? It's a pretty big mess to navigate. However, it's very easily made simple.

Which quality of food should I buy?

In order of best value to worst:

Q4 - Great value
Q3
Q2
Q1
Q5
Q7
Q6 - Complete rip off

How was that calculated?

Each quality of food gives a different amount of energy per unit, hence Q7 being much more expensive than Q1 per unit. Simply dividing the lowest price by the amount of energy per unit gives us a comparable figure.

Which quality of weaponry should I buy?

Q7. Although Q4 is better value, Q4 doesn't have the same bonuses as Q7. No matter how broke you are, Q7 is a must.

What quality of moving tickets should I buy?

Q5. Q5 is 21 times better value than Q1.

Ok, so we now know generally what the best value products are. But what if we want to make an offer on the market?

Making offers on the market

Once you have completed the Become an Adult mission, (Achieve 50 strength) you will be able to post offers on the market, through My Places > Storage, the grey button at the bottom. You can sell anything that can be made in a company, as well as companies themselves, as long as you're willing to lose access to the items whilst being on the market.

Generally, people will produce the goods they sell through their companies. (My Places > Companies) You can make job offers for any companies you've already created, or if you already have an established company with employees, then you're set. If you want to learn how to manage companies efficiently, the quick pop-up tutorial via the 'how do I manage my companies?' link is a good start. Just make sure that you're paying your employees an appropriate amount that won't send you completely broke and make them rich.

Now that we've got complete monopoly over the marketplace, I hope that you understand what we've learnt so far. But what about all of the different groups!

Military Unit

Your daily order comes from them, which is definitely worth doing. They are the groups you fight in against other countries. Make sure to choose wisely when picking. Also, most political parties will have a MU to go with it.

Political party

Just like parties in real life, just the elections are much closer together and the political structure is slightly different to Australia's actual parliament. You must be in one to go for congress or president.
