[CP] Update One

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
Once again: Thanks for electing me as Country President of our country. It may not be the first of second time for me to be elected to this post, but that doesn't make your support anything less of a value. For the start of this term I'd like to talk about a few different subjects.

Finding a Gov?
This month finding a capable government was especially difficult. Over the past few months we've lost many of our most brilliant individuals. They either quit the game completely or just notched down their activity. Numerous examples come to mind and their numbers are frightening indeed. Active players never are in abundance and with the loss of the likes of Garmr, Jordic, Willem, Konnes, Odan and others we are finding ourselves in a difficult position. Nevertheless I managed to find a centralized and small team to 100% work for our country.


Still doesn't mean the Presidential Office ''Het Catshuis'' will be quiet this month.

Lancer will be my Vice President. He's one of my best friends in this game, but also one of the most capable persons in the eNetherlands. He might not be as active as he was before, but advice and availability will definitely make my job more fun Mattio will lead the Ministry of Home Affairs, now tasked with all domestic affairs - some which were previously autonomous in the Ministries of Coaching and Information. Cody Caine, many times MoFA in the past and former eNL President, will be my Minister of Foreign Affairs this month. He recently returned to the eNetherlands and this couldn't be more of a blessing considering the shrinking experience and activity. Previous President Spir Tus will be my Minister of Defence, continuing his ambitious plans to reform our defence apparatus into one a relevant country like ours deserve. Trannsvaal will be my Trannsvaal this month and do what he does best for the last millennia, counting our money and Buckingham Palace of its wealth.

The UK, Taxes, MPPs and shit
Our extensive cooperation with Hungary and Canada left the red-white-blue flag flying over the East Coast of England. Great to have some colonies for once, but not a permanently feasible goal. We will enjoy them, perhaps start some RWs and NEs and get some additional taxes, but only when it's within our capabilities to continue our operations in the United Kingdom.

Speaking about taxes. Our own taxes only allow us to sign around 4 MPPs (40000 NLG) a month. Helped with other incomes (like the Monetary Market program, the Dictator Medal tax and individual donations) we can uphold our current stack of 12 MPPs. Cutting in spending is not an option as those MPPs are a prime ingredient in our current independence and power. However, depending on non-permanent incomes (like UK taxes, which is around 1000 NLG a day or private donations) is not an option either. Considering that the NL state now has secured all our regions and regularly gives our citizens NL battles and additional bonuses, it's time to review our current tax policy. Our Taxes are average for a nation of our size, but that leaves a wrong interpretation of the situation. For example, our average wage (on which Work Tax is levied) is way below the average global average wage. Our current 4% Work Tax can be compared to 2% Work Tax in many countries, for example. I will elaborate my views on what needs to be changed in Congress soon and invite everyone to participate in this discussion.

In the meantime, private donations are still needed and appreciated. Please drop a message if you are able to help out your country. I'm sure many can miss that bit of money. So far Mattio has donated the money for one MPP (10000 NLG) and we invite others to do the same. Our finances are only focussed on financing the essential affairs, which are mainly MPPs. We can't hope to rationally fund Combat Orders with state incomes, and they will stay mainly privately funded (for the meantime mainly covered by myself).
