I just wanted to share some opinions on admins' latest plan to rescue the economy.

You may have read the news previously about the change in Freedom Fighter medal rewards:
Gift Packs and Medal changes (Day 2,576)

In short, from day 2610 everyone who earn a Freedom Fighter medal will receive 1000cc instead of 5 gold. Not a big change, is it? Well, we will see...

But first, let's start with a bit of Freedom Fighter medal history.



Freedom Fighter medal was introduced 422 days ago on day 2187 (05:00). We may find numerous reasons behind this action if we would.

One of the main reasons was probably that the economy collapsed a few months before. People earned ten times less than previously. Of course no one had money to buy expensive products, so the demand decreased on the market, that was followed by the prices. Battle Hero and Campaign Hero medals became the primary income for many active players (others were only two-clicking).

At the end much more gold arrived to players than cc (thanks to BH, CH medals and MasterCards), and also they spent more cc (for products) than gold (for upgrades and special offers). So the demand for the cc increased a lot, and the gold price has fallen to tenth of its value.

Many players left eRepublik due to the economic crisis, and it made this situation even worse.

To increase the demand on the marketplace (basically let people fight more) they have made several changes (for example introduced new wellness bar). One of them was the Freedom Fighter medal, so people frighted bit more to make more income (well, it's much easier for old an strong players then to newbies - that did not solved the recruiting problem).

But of course as it was a medal, the reward was gold. Guess what had happened on the monetary market...



After a little history lesson, let's see the changes we are facing tomorrow.

For the first look, with the current exchange rate and the new 1000cc reward, we loose 180cc/FF medal compared to what we get today for 5 golds. So finish your current FF medal today if you can.

But in the background it means much more: there will be less income in gold, so people receive their "salary" in what they will spend it: Country Currency. Therefore the demand for cc may decrease bit on the monetary market, and the gold price might rise to a new level.

What will the future bring? We will see soon.
Ceteris paribus I expect slow but continuous rising of Gold/CC exchange rate.
