Dear Citizens!

This is my 5th and last week as President of this great nation and so it’s time to look back. My presidency was coined by the transition of eRepublik from V1 to V2 which had its benefits and its disadvantages. On the whole I’d say eAustria managed to become a stronger nation during this process even though we too lost many veteran citizens. But new ones will come and it is our task to make them stay in our country.

A President alone can’t do much and he has to rely on dedicated ministers who support him. I want to thank these ministers and their secretaries who did a lot in the background. If a minister does a good job you will not notice him and the lack of any crisis during my term suggest we did a pretty good job. A special ‘thank you’ has to be directed to Fragreg who was my predecessor as President of eAustria. He helped me a lot understanding the game mechanics available to a president and he was always there to give me an advice or two. Also I have to thank Thomas765 who I hope will be my successor as President of eAustria. He was the leading head behind the creation of ONE and I am very confident he will make an excellent President. And I want to thank OEBernd and Riboldo who also did what every President could wish: their duty.

I mentioned above that eAustria now is a stronger country than before and I’ll also tell you why. First of all eAustria finally is united again and controls all of its 8 original regions. While this has a mere psychological effect it proves that we are a sovereign country. Also with the new combat system it does not matter where a citizens live in order to benefit from a hospital so from now on our people can live where they want and not where we can afford to buy a hospital.

Our relations with neighbouring countries have improved and two peace treaties with both eGermany and eSlovenia have been signed. And to improve our safety we joined the new alliance ONE where our neighbour the Czech Republic is a member as well. It is an alliance of small nations just like ourselves who want to support each other in case of an attack. The effectiveness of this new alliance has been proven when forces of ONE defended eBolivia during an attack by eArgentinia. This alliance should not only make us saver but also give our troops the chance to fight for a good cause. Two training wars this week gave our troops the possibility to familiarize themselves with the new interface, tactics and the new warfare. We will soon create a new task force which will fight all around the world carrying the red-white-red banner to our friends and allies.

We also strengthened the country from within with a very aggressive monetary policy. Our MoF kept a steady eye on the market and bought/sold whenever it was necessary. This ensured we maintained a stable exchange rate at any time. At the same time we managed to double the state treasury to about 800 gold and 150k ATS. With this money we are able to defend the ATS from attacks, support our military in case of war and also sign MPPs if we every come under direct attack again.

As final words I have to say it was a very stressful month with meetings in the night, endless negotiations and tons of messages. But it also was a great experience I don’t want to miss. I want to thank all my voters once more and I hope I could meet their expectations.

Der Präsident von eÖsterreich

Liebe Bürger!

Dies ist nun meine 5. und letzte Woche als Präsident dieser großartigen Nation und daher ist es an der Zeit zurückzublicken. Meine Präsidentschaft wurde natürlich vom Übergang von eRepublik von V1 auf V2 geprägt, was sowohl Vor- als auch Nachteile mit sich brachte. Insgesamt betrachtet würde ich sagen eÖsterreich wurde zu einer stärkeren Nation auch wenn wir wie alle anderen viele verdiente Bürger verloren haben. Aber neue werden kommen und es liegt an uns sie in unserem Land zu halten.

Ein Präsident alleine kann nicht viel tun und muss sich daher auf seine Minister verlassen können. Daher möchte daher diesen Ministern und ihrem Team danken welche vieles im Hintergrund geleistet haben. Wenn ein Minister seinen Job gut macht bemerkt man ihn kaum. Nimmt man dies als Maßstab kann man sagen dass während meiner Amtszeit wohl vieles gut gelaufen ist. Ein besonderer Dank gilt Fragreg, der mein Vorgänger als Präsident von eÖsterreich war. Er hat mir sehr dabei geholfen die dem Präsidenten zugänglichen Spielmechaniken zu verstehen und er war immer da um mir einen oder zwei Tipps zu geben. Ich muss auch Thomas765 danken, der hoffentlich mein Nachfolger als Präsident von eÖsterreich wird. Er war die treibende Kraft hinter unserem Beitritt zu ONE und ich bin mir sicher er wird ein ausgezeichneter Präsident. Abschließend möchte ich noch OEBernd und Riboldo danken, die das getan haben was sich jeder Präsident nur wünschen kann: ihre Pflicht!

Ich habe anfangs erwähnt dass eÖsterreich nun starker wäre als zuvor und ich werde auch gerne sagen wieso. Zunächst konnte eÖsterreich endlich wieder vereint werden und zum ersten Mal seit langer Zeit kontrollieren wir wieder alle 8 Regionen unseres Landes. Obwohl dies nur einen psychologischen Effekt hat zeigt es dennoch dass wir eine souveräne Nation sind. Zudem ist es mit dem neuen Kampfsystem nicht mehr zwingend notwendig sich in der Region aufzuhalten in der auch ein Krankenhaus steht. Daher steht es nun allen Bürgern frei dort zu leben wo sie wollen.

Unsere Beziehungen zu den Nachbarstaaten haben sich verbessert und zwei Friedensverträge mit eDeutschland und eSlowenien wurden erst kürzlich unterzeichnet. Und um unsere Sicherheitslage zu verbessern sind wir der Allianz ONE beigetreten, in der ebenfalls die Tschechische Republik Mitglied ist. ONE ist eine Allianz von kleinen Nationen wie wir es sind die sich gegenseitig im Falle eines Angriffs beistehen wollen. Dass dies bereits funktioniert beweist die Verteidigung von eBolivien durch Truppen von ONE während eines Angriffs von eArgentinien. Aber diese Allianz soll uns nicht nur sicherer machen sondern auch unseren Truppen die Gelegenheit geben für eine gute Sache zu kämpfen. Zwei Trainingskriege diese Woche gab unseren Soldaten die Gelegenheit sich an das neue Interface zu gewöhnen und neue Taktiken auszuprobieren. Wir werden demnächst eine neue Task Force gründen die das rot-weiß-rote Banner zu unseren Freunden und Verbündeten tragen wird!

Wir haben das Land aber auch von innen mittels einer aggressiven Finanzpolitik gestärkt. Unser MoF hatte ständig ein Auge auf den Finanzmarkt und Käufe/Verkäufe getätigt wann immer dies notwendig war. Dies sollte sicherstellen dass wir jeder Zeit eine stabile Währung beibehalten konnten und damit Spekulanten fernhielten. Gleichzeitig gelang es uns das Staatsvermögen auf etwa 800 Gold und 150k ATS zu verdoppeln. Mit diesem Geld sind wir in der Lage den ATS gegen Angriff zu schützen, unser Militär zu finanzieren und auch MPPs zu schließen falls wir jemals wieder angegriffen werden sollten.

Als abschließende Worte möchte ich sagen, dass dies ein sehr stressreicher Monat mit Meetings bis in die Nacht, endlosen Verhandlungen und jeder Menge Nachrichten war. Aber es war zugleich eine großartige Erfahrung die ich nicht missen möchte. Ich möchte erneut allen meinen Wählern danken und ich hoffe, ich konnte ihre Erwartungen erfüllen.
