Join the new world

Welcome again this time to my Military/Foreign Affairs Manifesto for the February 2011 Country President Elections. This is the final of three which will be just as enjoyable as the previous two. I will outline here how I intend to ensure the safety of the eUK and enhance relations with our neighbours and allies.



Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Diplomatic relations can quite often be volatile and difficult to maintain. Fortunately, we in the eUK benefit from very good relations with very loyal and powerful allies as well as having many well-known and regarded citizens to aide diplomatic discussions. Yet we are by no means safe from attacks from aggressors, and with the current worldwide re-organisation of alliances, we must ensure that our future is secure by considering and evaluating any offers on the merits they offer us, not solely the countries behind the offers. While alliances serve to support all its members, they also often alienate members from those not a part of their alliance. In the end, it makes far better sense to be in an alliance due to the security it provides for its members. Nonetheless, choosing who to estrange is something that can/should not be done in haste. As such, I believe that we can better judge which allies will benefit us more by keeping our options open before joining a new alliance. Should the UK enter an alliance within my term, I will insist upon the alliance implementing several key measures so that we never see the breakdown of relations that we have recently (Brazil/Hungary, Romania/Poland) again. I am also particularly keen on forming new bonds where possible and useful with those who we share borders with, thereby making our regions safer from enemy attacks.


We will nevertheless always have adversaries! Maintaining our MPPS and good relations with current allies ensure we are not alone in our battles. Beneficial rapport with allies will be built through straightforward communication. Not just at presidential level but openly through articles and joint celebrations. Strengthening moral through rejoicing builds lasting comradeships. While both new and old allies will be supported with establishing best practice government structure and polices.


Ministry of Defence

Due to the new Natural Enemy feature, countries now get an extra +10% war influence bonus. By utilizing this feature we can benefit from this bonus to encourage citizens to improve their skills and ranks through direct wars. While we are also trying to develop relations with neighbouring countries we can use the Natural Enemy feature to do training wars, when our damage is not needed by any of our friends or allies. Both countries can then benefit from the bonus and improve rapport. Where there is an imminent threat, all of congress will be kept informed so the Natural Enemy feature can be applied to where it will be most beneficial.


Firstly, I want to make it known that I will support any initiative which ensure a greater inclusion of the general population within our military structure; be they new regiments for non-IRC soldiers, or people who play eRepublik socially, as opposed to religiously. It is important to do this respectably however, as we must not alienate our loyal members who dedicate so much time and effort to be on IRC and able to fight at such short notice.

The eUK has a very committed army that serves each and every one of us. Without our well respected and organised army we would be easy prey for our aggressors. As a result, I intend to ensure our army maintains all its structure that work as well as introduce new schemes that will help the army grow in numbers and subsequently strength.

Attracting new member can often be a challenging task, which is why launching new initiatives to attract fresh recruits will be a priority during my term. All new recruits with less than 250 influence are guaranteed to reach Corporal level within one week provided they train and fight daily. New recruits are provided with 72 wellness each day which will allow them to improve their rank fairly quickly and fight in the most important battles alongside their fellow countrymen and allies.

Moreover, while fighting for the army, soldiers may want to progress and earn responsibilities. Accordingly, I want the army to support the most promising individuals by providing them with the opportunity to gain experience by leading strikes where possible as well as other opportunities as they arise. Another programme I will support is joint strikes where more experienced soldiers will join allied strikes to further strengthen our ties as well as build moral and excitement for our troops.
