[BNA] A farewell

Day 2,492, 16:53 Published in Belgium Turkey by e Vladimir

Hello there,
I'm writing this article from the position of BNA Commander and yes, it's a farewell article...

Since my coming here last year, The Belgian National Army has been the flagship MU of Belgium, a spearhead of the military power and the place that had all of eBE's elite fighters. In a situation where Belgium had three state MU's, it was an honor and a sort of an achievement for weaker/new players to develop and grow enough to be able to join the elite MU. The unit functioned well, it was well organized and it was State financed so it gave supplies to it's fighters. It was all good until the State treasury went dry and consequently led to BNA's slow downfall.

This is the time when I took over as the MU's Commander (Feb 17, 2014). I thought that my role would be of a more short-term nature, a kind of a caretaker Commander 'till better times came and a more capable leader for the MU stepped up. This was supported with the fact that after-all I was/am a stranger in this country, as I have thought to myself. The "times" didn't get better and there was no long-term replacement for the position. Only Thanatos The Magnificent took over for a few short-term mandates as the MU Commander, he had a really strong wish to come up with a way to re-organize the MU and find a way for it to start giving supplies again, thus bringing back the shine of the old BNA, I had the same wish. It was almost a mission impossible, but I applaud him for that.

I though more than once (in my time as Commander) to step down, but this time I think is the right time for me to move on, however sad I may feel. I still have a very good opinion for BNA, some very good memories as well. I may have been the laziest BNA Commander in it's history, I may have not done all that I was capable of in trying to make it better, but I was always doing everything for the best of the MU and always trying to retain it's reputation. Y'all will be the judge of that.

I'm sorry (to the Government and the BNA members) that this maybe comes a bit unexpected, but I'm sure they'll come up with a replacement as soon as possible. 'Till then I've appointed ThomasRed as the new Commander, an experienced, well known and respected Belgian. He may seem to be not active in the community, but I assure you he is more than active on the battlefields.

My last words. As I've said I enjoyed every minute being a member of the BNA, also being it's Commander this whole time. It was and honor and a privilege for me. I want to thank all the people that helped and worked in any way they could to try and make it a better MU. I hope a capable leader will step up real soon, with a strong intention and eagerness to bring the unit to it's former glory. Belgium needs and deserves a strong and vital State Military Unit, a unit that will have the best fighters in eBE and a unit that will attract everyone again, just like it used to in the past. I know it's a long-shot, but I'd like to think that it can be done. I think that I'll probably come back again one day and I hope to see a much better MU than I'm leaving now. Until then: happy hunting!

Over and out. BNA o7!

With regards,
e Vladimir
