[BC] Remarks from my time in the eUSA
BaronChris
After a short absence to have an eHoliday, sipping Long Island Iced Teas at my hotel on the West Coast of the eUSA, I am back home. Thoroughly enjoying the bonuses of the eUSA and the wages, not so much, I must say I have learnt a lot from the Americans in how they manage certain aspects of the country. I must thank my hosts (especially WookyJack) and also the immigration officials and Waynekerr, who only held me for a few days at customs for a few bags of dodgy beef jerky.
Immigration- a possible new system?
An approved list would be posted for congressmen to then use their CS passes accordingly. I would assume that MoHA or an associate department would be involved in maintaining and running the regular polls. This would serve as an edition to the congress chat that already goes on, where people can vouch, or speak against applicants.
Party Politics- Very Productive, Very Organized.
With experience in a few parties in the eUSA whilst I was there, it seems that the top parties run the majority of their affairs off-site and in a forum. Of course, that would never work for us as a country. Aside from this, there are a number of different departments, from media to procurement, to retention, etc.
It would be interesting to see if more parties would develop a more complex party role system, although this all depends on how many active members in the party there are and want to help. The Federalist Party in the eUSA has three times the amount of members of the largest eUK party, TUP; and has a larger pool of players to draw from.
Now I’m Back…
I’m going to take a bit more of a media focuses approach, now I’m back. Two runs for President has exhausted me and I’ll be happy to contribute to the eUK in the side lines. I’d like to tender my support for Crispy Dragon in the upcoming UKPP PP election, as he has done an excellent job thus far and I think there’s still more to come from him.
Secondly, although perhaps not democratic, I’d urge citizens of the eUK to give the dictatorship a go. As I’ve realized, it doesn't matter who’s in charge, as long as it benefits the eUK and its citizens. I will be attempting to lobby Waynekerr for the reintroduction of the ambassadorial system that was last managed by MoFA a few months ago (perhaps FragUK or Fatalix…?). With a wealth of experienced and talented members, we would benefit from the system being reinvented and launched.
The introduction of regional directors of regions and then ambassadors to friendly nations at first, and then beyond that; would allow for strategic management of our foreign affairs. It would allow ambassadors to be the first step sounding board, instead of bogging down a MoFA with too many contacts. After all, an outwardly friendly and organized persona in our foreign relations will help protect and benefit us.
Baron Chris
P.S. Comments would be greatly appreciated for the mission.
Comments
Vote/Shout/Sub would be much appreciated 🙂
Certainly deserves a comment for effort.
Sounds pretty good to me.Very readable article.Welcome back into the UK BC.
Lobby me all you want, it won't make a difference. Best bet is to talk to the MoFA and see what he says.
Will do!
@BC he means that you to ask me,I am MoFA !!!.
Popovic you are adorable.
@Fata I know I am,just except you no one else knows 😃
SFP! Good work....
Thanks for visiting us. As you see now when a group of us left the Feds their numbers and performances have been crippled. I guess that had NOTHING to do with that group of us who left... none whatsoever! 😛
Socialist Freedom Party will rise up. I love my new party and mu. Take care BC
I think there was a leadership problem in the feds and power was not devolved to members. Thank you for your kindness and I'm sure we'll see eachother again 🙂
Welcome back. 😃
Thanks Serf 🙂 I returned to find you in Croatia 😛 How's it going?
It's been fun so far.
I agree with your complaint about the forum. They even have the press release on the forum. WTF, right?
the UKPP does it well over here, discussion threads in messages within game, as well as extensive use of the party feed and in the past great use of surveymonkey/ google docs.
From my observing from a distance of eUSA politics it looks completely ridiculous.
IRL or erep?
ehhhh
both
Truer words have never been spoken.
Parties in the eUSA actually do things and have their own forums, I was surprised.
productivity is so mainstream
Yes they create a bonus only the US has in extreme abundance.
Useless Drama.
Welcome back BC 🙂
I like you new style BC, very...Reformist... 😉
Welcome back! I really did miss you! 😃
The citizenship process showed me how many enemies I had, so I am going to try and reform that. Put forward some ideas, lobby the right people and get things changed for the better. I realized, I don't need to be CP to influence policy, which is all I wanted to do in the first place.
Yeah, the citizenship process is very basic and could do with some reform. Sounds good o7
There's already been steps made to improve our citizenship process. If I can sort the wheat from the chaff (and if I can be arsed) I'll write an article about it soon.
\o/
This is hardly reformist, or even anything remotely like something new. Everyone knows about the eUS immigration system and party politics, you want a fragmented society where parties have their own separate forum systems to communicate and belittle each other in private?
The ambassador system is a bygone from an era where people actually played this game. Not only will anyone struggle to fill their cabinet with competent people, you now want a minister to then spend the first 27 days of his term finding enough people to engage with and account for regions or individual countries? Their use as a sounding board will be limited, if anything at best, because most nations do not regard ambassadors as a useful contact link; there is a President/Dictator/MoFA for that. Further, for them to be of any use they would have to be just as active as the MoFA, otherwise it'll simply be a system where people can say "i agree" to any messages they receive, which will inevitably also include the MoFA who has answered on their behalf.
We have enough roles in government, enough oversight on immigration (where most people agreed it would be a pretty awful idea to let you back in the country, I might add), and to compare us as a nation with the US is pointless, they have a much wider online audience who will play this game, much higher natural recruitment and obviously a much higher ePopulation to draw from (hence why they have more departments and do more).
But ignoring everything that you said, sure, good article.
Well it's always nice to have your input on the issue. Thanks for the comment.
dat 12% though...
well, US is a good country to build your eFarmville.
Glad to see you back!
The immigration system is kind of a joke actually. The categories are complete bollocks and people who don't know anyone personally don't even need to try. Also it can take minutes to weeks for a request to be processed. I used to be one of the guys with a stamp.
(To any murrican that answers to this post: Denied.)
Yes, I'd say even the US system needs work, but I think for an efficiency basis that I suggested in the article- it could work in part for the uk.
One day these missions will end and then i'll do mine
Welcome back o7
Oh what journey I had doing these missions. A lot of advertising it and sometimes even giving people stuff to comment!!!
Memories are bright
