Congress Primary Open

As of yesterday, voting opened for the AMP Congressional Primary. The first six spots have already been decided, and are as follows:

- John Largo
- Evry
- Mr. Swagg
- J.Lucent
- saraht0ga
- Paul Proteus

For spots seven and beyond, head to the Congress Primary thread and vote for your three favorite people (based on platforms, preferably) to represent AMP in next term’s Congress. You can vote here. As Evry wrote in the thread, “This will remain open until 12:01PM (noon) EST on October 22nd. Any votes after that time will be discarded.”

Israel Stevens is a long-time member of AMP. He has been Party President, and lots of other illustrious things that I won’t list here because I’m lazy and he’s not on IRC.

Sarah: Approximately how many AMPs would you say you feel?

Israel: Enough to make my hair stand on end.

Sarah: What change(s) would you like to see in the party by the start of next term?

Israel: I think that the party needs newer players to step up and take control of the party. We can't keep relying on our elders to steer the ship. We need new faces, and more excitement.

Sarah: Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?

Israel: Duck sized horses. Could prolly kick them. And my dog could help. He's bro like that.

Sarah: What makes AMP the sexiest party?

Israel: You. And me. And John Killah makes three.

Sarah: What song would you like to dedicate to AMP in the next "Toga Party" radio show?

Israel: I have been enjoying Miike Snow - 'Paddling Out' recently. Or Frank Turner - 'Recovery.' And anything by Macklemore because I'm the whitest kid you know.

Sarah: What would you say to a citizen who's thinking about joining us in AMP?

Israel: Join the party. Get involved and use us as a springboard for your political career. We have loads of people that can show you the ropes and get you started. But you have to make the first move and get involved.

If you’re reading this, you are probably an AMPlifier. If you’re not, that’s terrible cool, but I’m going to speak directly to members at the moment.

Is there something you wish the party would do as a group? A certain event you think would be fun? A contest you think you’d be good at that you wish leadership would put together? A game you play online as long as it’s not at all similar to eRep that we could all easily play together that you would like to see happen?

To try to get more people involved, I will be taking ideas from you and submitting them for discussion to the rest of leadership. For any idea that we use, the contributor will receive 10 q7 tanks.

Message me with your ideas, why it’s a useable idea for a (potentially) big group of people online, and how you think it would help bring the party together. The better you present it, the more likely the other Directors will be interested in making it happen.
