Yes I'm offering gold of my own to the US Government if I reach 1,000 subscribers but that isn't necessarily something I should be writing about day after day. I know that I'm well over 450 subscribers by now. Today is the last day I will be offering a 5 gold matching contribution, tomorrow my contribution drops to 3 gold (totaling 8 gold that will be given to Fort Knox).

So, we're now starting to declare peace with PEACE nations? Admittedly, I'm not in congress anymore so I cannot see any of the information that Congress sees, but you can see the proposal and when you click the discussion link, it is clear that the discussion has taken place on hidden boards. I'm not upset or angry or anything like that, but does anyone find it a bit suspicious that our new president who has only been office 1 day (today is his second day) already has a peace proposal basically accepted by the US Congress?
Surely Emerick WAS Secretary of State under Harrison Richardson, so he certainly has the contacts, but how was this deal crafted so quickly? Also, one has to take into account that Italy has clearly not yet accept this as we are proposing it to them, but we wouldn't be doing this unless there was good reason for it.

Wasn't the Italian gov't PTO'd or something? That might be why.

Treaties with neutral nations are hopefully a good thing at this point. I'm no expert, but isn't lack of attention to old hostilities what gave PEACE the open door to begin with?
Sorry to see any player go, but I expect to see a lot more veteran players leaving - especially Canadians and Americans, out of disgust.
The only disgust I can see is the horrid war module.
I didn't realize Italy was PTO'd. That's good to know.
We've done 2 peace proposals with Italy already. This is the third one before we get an MPP.

Agreed with Atlas.
I think it was the Croations mainly who helped PTO Italy, they posted it up an article after July's Congressinal elections.
I'm not in congress or high enough in the military, just like you but I was lucky enough to catch that.
